Design and Culture Days

The Campus of Art and Design organises the Design and Culture Days Trier on a recurring basis and thus presents its full potential to the general public. Almost all students, professors and staff of the department are always involved in this major event with a great deal of dedication and passion. At the premiere in 2015, around 10,000 guests from the region and all over the world were welcomed. Other cultural disciplines such as music, dance and theatre are also part of this event, which transforms the campus into a cultural-creative meeting place for a weekend.

The six faculties give an insight into their work and present outstanding design projects as part of this large-scale showcase. With numerous exhibitions, workshops, lectures, installations, building projections, talks and symposia, the Campus of Art and Design shows itself to be an innovative source of inspiration for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Trier region.

As a recurring event, the Design and Culture Days Trier aims to promote sustainable interaction in university and urban development and to make the potential of Rhineland-Palatinate's cultural and creative industries visible.

Der Campus Gestaltung verfügt über ein eigenes studentisches T V-Format. 2019 ist es mit dem äußerst engagierten Einsatz der beteiligten Studierenden der Fachrichtung Intermedia Design unter der Anleitung ihres Dozenten Prof. Servet Ahmet Golbol gelungen, das Format zu initiieren und mit Leben zu füllen. Neben den klassischen Aufgaben eines Campusfernsehens – Information, hochschulspezifische Angelegenheiten und Präsentation der Hochschule – bietet die Campus-WG ein Hochschul-Unterhaltungsprogramm mit Studiogästen, Film- und Interviewbeiträgen.

Die Campus-WG definiert sich als »Von Studierende - Für Studierende«. Die Redaktion ist interdisziplinär besetzt, sodass unterschiedliche Schwerpunkte und Beiträge vorgestellt werden können.

Ziel des Formates ist es, neben den Studierenden und Hochschulangehörigen auch Studieninteressierte mit den Mitteln digitaler Distribution wie Social Media und Videostreams zu erreichen und anzusprechen.

Die an der Produktion beteiligten Studierenden sammeln wichtige Praxiserfahrungen für das Berufsleben. Sie können die Sendung nutzen, um sich mitzuteilen, filmisches Handwerk zu erlernen, in Teamarbeit neue Themen auszuarbeiten sowie strukturiert und eigenverantwortlich zu arbeiten. Diese Fähigkeiten bieten ein weites Experimentierfeld und eine optimale Vorbereitung auf die spätere Arbeitswelt.

The Campus of Art and Design has its own student TV show. In 2019, with the extremely committed efforts of the students of Intermedia Design under the guidance of their lecturer Prof. Servet Ahmet Golbol the show was successfully initiated and filled with life. In addition to the classic tasks of campus television - information, university-specific matters and presentation of the university - The Campus WG (The Campus Flat-Share) offers a university entertainment programme with studio guests, film and interview clips.

The Campus WG defines itself as “ by students - for students”. The editorial team is interdisciplinary so that different focal points and contributions can be presented.

The aim of the show is to reach and address not only students and university members, but also prospective students using digital distribution such as social media and video streams.

The students involved in the production gain important practical experience for their professional lives. They can use the show to communicate, learn cinematic craft, explore new topics collaboratively and work in a structured but independent manner. These skills offer a wide field of experimentation and optimal preparation for these students’ future work.
