Held a meeting with staff from the Police Department, Community & Economic Development, and Finance to discus coverage for City events.

Attended a Fayette County Board of Commissioners called meeting to discuss the American Rescue Act funding.

Held a meeting with the Mayor to discuss various City-related items.

CITY CLERK’S OFFICE ANNE BARKSDALE Meetings: Attended the Management Team meeting 5/3; met with a vendor 5/3 to discuss shirts for the City Hall grand opening event; attended meeting to discuss artwork for the new City Hall 5/5.

Projects: Closed out GovDeals auction which ended 5/2; scheduled Shred-It for purge of records 5/5; published public notices for Finance and Public Services Committee meetings on 5/11.

FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - All shifts completed a walk-through of the new City Hall building and City Center Park. All shifts completed training on Pumping Procedures for Standpipes and Sprinklers. All apparatus with EMS First Responder status passed inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Projects - Deputy Chief Linda Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) officials and various other medical associations regarding COVID-19. Chief Black assisted the DPH and the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services with COVID-19 vaccinations. Division Chief Keith Harris continues to process applicants for open positions for Firefighter/EMT. Firefighter/EMT Charlie Perdue successfully completed driver check-offs for engines. Tower 91 placed back in service. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) mask and regulators continues.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY

▶ Monday, May 3 - Chief Scott Gray attended the weekly Management Team meeting. Interviews were held for the Records Clerk position. Departmental employees completed the Meals on Wheels route. ▶ Tuesday, May 4 - Interviews for Police Officer I were held. New patrol vehicles were taken to Prologic for camera installation. State accreditation is on schedule. ▶ Wednesday, May 5 - Departmental employees worked the COVID-19 vaccination event at the Old Station 4. Chief Gray attended the District 10 meeting at Atlanta Motor Speedway. ▶ Thursday, May 6 - Chief Gray attended a meeting at City Hall in reference to officer part-time pay for City events. ▶ Friday, May 7 - Reviewed weekly reports from departmental divisions.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: Completed Performance Management training sessions. We continue to update ClearCompany with Appraisals metrics. We continue to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements as they relate to City employees and on remaining compliant with mandates. We continue to maintain a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. We continue to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. We are updating job descriptions for various positions. We continue to prepare documents to begin a Pay and Class Study. Met with a Trident representative to review safety and loss prevention programs. We continue to review the ARPA COBRA extension for employees who may be eligible.

Turn Over Report: There were no new-hires nor terminations during the period of May 3-9. There are 11 vacant positions: four in Fire Services, one in Public Services, four in the Police Department, one in Community & Economic Development (on hold), and one in Human Resources (on hold).

Projects: We are continuing to work on a list of technology needs for the new City Hall building; documents retention continued (working), Building records (scanning and testing), Court; Fleet Maintenance Systems (in-review); Occupational Tax online form project; Water and Public Works work order system (in-review); video wall for new City Hall (installed, testing phase); printer replacement (RFQ review); upgraded point-to-point communications between all City buildings; reviewed and responded to numerous e-mails throughout the week having to do with City projects.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: On-site visit with the property manager at the Fayette Pavilion shopping center regarding landscaping enhancements; met with Fayette County Development Authority president to discuss a new incentive application; published a construction bid announcement for the hospital area trail/bridge project, with bids to be opened June 3.

Downtown Development Authority/Main Street: Continued marketing and scheduling efforts for the 2021 concerts; coordinated logistics for June amphitheater rentals; discussed facade grant opportunities with downtown businesses; scanned and purged documents in preparation of the move to the new City Hall building.

PUBLIC SERVICES DEPT. CHRIS HINDMAN Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department; cut and maintained Lester Road, Weatherly Walk, West Lanier Avenue between Grady Avenue and Meeting Place Drive, City Cemetery, East Lanier Avenue to the Southern Federal Credit Union area, Stonewall Avenue from Tiger Trail to Bennett Street, East Lanier Avenue from North Jeff Davis Drive to Church Street, West Lanier Avenue from Bennett Street to Tiger Trail, the Lane Brown Gazebo area, the Holiday Dorsey Fife House, North Glynn Street from the Courthouse Square to Lafayette Avenue, South Glynn Street from Fisher Avenue to Bradley Drive, Hood Avenue, the fountain area, Forrest Avenue, West Lanier Avenue between Brandywine Road and Yorktown Drive, the Highway 314 and Highway 85 intersection, Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard medians, North Jeff Davis Drive, West Lanier Avenue medians, hospital entry, Courthouse Square, and the City lakes; removed trash from the Main Street offices; cleaned the trucks and building area.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.46 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 0.98 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired three water main breaks; performed maintenance on 34 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
