FIRE DEPARTMENT ALAN JONES Events - All shifts completed monthly EMS training at ERTSS. Truck 9 provided medical standby for a 5K road race for The Joseph Sams School.

Projects - Chief Alan Jones attended a meeting to discuss accounts payable with Clearwater. Chief Jones attended a monthly LeaderGov Cohort meeting via Zoom.

Chief Jones and Deputy Chief Linda Black attended a meeting for the upcoming budget process. Chief Black attended various webinars throughout the week with Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) officials and various other medical associations regarding COVID-19. Division Chief Keith Harris continued scheduling testing for potential firefighter candidates. Weekly COVID-19 report was completed and sent to the DPH. Washing machine for Station 93 was delivered, and a replacement ice machine was installed for Station 91. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) mask and regulators continues.

Deputy Chief Linda Black and Captain Joshua Collins assisted the DPH and Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services with COVID-19 vaccinations. A new staff vehicle was delivered. Tower 91 is out of service for repairs and remains at Ten-8 in Smyrna.

POLICE DEPARTMENT SCOTT GRAY ¡ Tuesday, March 16 - Attended the Management Team meeting at City Hall; a Command Staff meeting was held at the Police Department; interviews for the State Accreditation Manager position were held at the Police Department. ¡ Wednesday, March 17 - The Office of Professional Standards assisted with COVID-19 vaccinations at the old Station 4 location. ¡ Thursday, March 18 - Officer Michael Perry and Detective Tyler Simpson were promoted to the rank of sergeant; attended the awards presentation for Sergeant Perry, Officer Maggie Murphy, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Clay Hall, and Kenneth Nurse during the City Council meeting; Lieutenant Austin Dunn was recognized by the Rotary Club. ¡ Friday, March 19 - Reviewed weekly reports from all the divisions with the Police Department. ¡ Saturday, March 20 - Officers assisted with 5K traffic for The Joseph Sams School.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT. NELLA COOPER Personnel: We began working on the Performance Appraisal portion of the Performance Management System on the ClearCompany platform. We continue to focus on COVID-19 and federal and state requirements as they relate to City employees and on remaining compliant with mandates. We continue to maintain a case spreadsheet of potential pandemic cases involving City employees. We continue to review and update various administrative policies for accuracy. We are evaluating responses received from the pay study survey for Police, Fire, and Public Services.

Turn Over Report: We had one new hire, and one termination, and two retirements during the period of March 15-21, 2021. There are 15 vacant positions: four in Fire Services, two in Public Services, five in the Police Department, two in Community & Economic Development (one position on hold), one in Municipal Court, and one in Human Resources (on hold).

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BRIAN WISMER Economic Development: Met with the Finance Department on budget planning for Fiscal Year 2022; met with the City Manager on Economic Development goals; prepared for the upcoming development presentation to the Fayette County Board of Education.

Downtown Development Authority/Main Street: Main Street staff tour of remodeled Fayette Depot (historic train depot) with the Public Relations Specialist and the new building owners; extensive preparations for the 2021 Summer Concert Series; follow-up meeting with staff and a prospective purchaser for the old Melear’s site to discuss underground utility locations and stormwater requirements; met with City Historian John Lynch to review the remaining inventory at the Holliday Dorsey Fife House; site visit and logistics preparation with a renter at the amphitheater for a closed filming; held the monthly Downtown Development Authority meeting; reviewed the Shopify platform for website sales of Main Street merchandise.

Public Works: Cleaned City Hall and Police Department, cleaned up the bay area, shop and trucks; completed the trash run on the Courthouse Square and parks, Highway 54 East between Knight Way and Robinson Drive, and Beauregard Boulevard from Ramah Road to Quail Hollow; cut and maintained the Kathi Avenue roundabout, the last median on Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard, the fountain area, the skirt of the amphitheater (and blew off the stage), the Lane Brown Gazebo area, the front of the Holliday Dorsey Fife House, Church Street Park, and the City Cemetery; removed fallen debris in the Hood Avenue roundabout; removed dumped trash at 120 Meadowood Court; cleaned clogged drains on Running Bear Trail; cleaned Mimosa Drive curbing and right of way; checked areas for potential flooding; prepared equipment for the storm; Crew Leader conducted a small equipment class; delivered a desk to the Police Department for City Hall; installed a mailbox for Planning & Zoning on Booker Avenue in front of the church; collected bricks from the new City Hall.

Stormwater: Replaced the catch basin top in front of the car wash on South Glynn Street; removed debris from the storm drain on Heritage Lake Drive.

Sewer: Average daily flow treated was 2.09 million gallons per day; performed weekly maintenance at 26 lift station sites; maintained wastewater plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.

Water: Average daily flow of 0.992 million gallons of system demand per day; repaired one water main break; performed maintenance on 107 water meters; maintained water plant and remained in compliance of our permit requirements.
