1994) rozličnými prostředky umělecké práce připomíná (nebo dokonce odhaluje) komplexní vazby, z nichž je upředena složitá planetární síť zahrnující jak člověka, tak další Zemi obývající bytosti. Pro její práci je typická s přírodou kontrastní neonová estetika obeznámeně si pohrávající se symbolikou barev. Tyto skryté významy, jež korelují s problémy dnešního světa, autorka postihuje napříč různými médii od textilu, grafiky, videa, performance až po objekt. Inspirovaná současnými filozofickými myšlenkovýmisměry, jako je spekulativní realismus či posthumanismus, Špundová již ve svých ranějších projektech, jako např. v Uctění památky smrti antropocentrismu (2019), oslavovala konec antropocentrismu a vybízela ke zpomalení civilizačního tempa, které se v kontextu klimatické proměny zdá být neudržitelné (Hajej, nynej, human, 2019). Zatímco její dřívější tvorba byla určená primárně galerijnímu provozu, novější projekty se zaběhnutým institučním rámcům snaží snad až vyhýbat. V dílech jako Svatyňka – #CCFF00 #C0C0C0 #000000 (2021) nebo Work, Butterfly! (Together) (2022) překračuje logiku white cube a v exteriérech v okolí Brna inscenuje specifické stylizované situace, které počítají s aktivní účastí samotného návštěvnictva. Participativní charakter těchto děl, který vychází z principů rolových her (LARP), narušuje ustanovenou výměnu mezi tvůrkyní a diváctvem, a zatímco se autorka stává spíše iniciátorkou probíhajících (pří)běhů, návštěvnictvo se přímo angažuje v daném projektu a podílí se na jeho výsledku. Produktivní rolí všech zúčastněných nejen umožňuje kolektivní zvědomění vzájemné synergie, ale bezprostřední kontakt s přírodním prostředím taktéž poukazuje na složitější spoje s dalšími živočichy či ekosystémy. Umění se v jejím pojetí stává něčím, co má mentálně i tělesně aktivovat, burcovat, a měnit tak dosavadní přístupy ke světu. V rámci výstavy diplomových prací Špundová představuje svůj závěrečný projekt 4 ELEMENTS (2023). Veronika Špundová je absolventkou Sdružených uměnovědných studií na Filozofické fakultě Masarykovy univerzity, byla studentkou nejprve Ateliéru kresby a grafiky, nyní je absolventkou Ateliéru videa u Martina Mazance a Jana Šrámka na FaVU VUT v Brně. Vystavovala například v Nau Gallery, Zaazrak|Dornych, Galerii Garáž ve Zlíně, Umakart Galerii nebo na polském uměleckém festivalu Młode Wilki.

Through various forms of artistic work, Veronika Špundová (* 1994) reminds us of (or even reveals) the complex links that make up a complex planetary network involving humans and other creatures inhabiting the Earth. Her work is characterised by neon aesthetics contrasting with nature and playing with the symbolism of colour. These hidden meanings, which correlate with the problems of today’s world, are explored across a variety of media, from textiles, graphics, video, and performance to object.

Inspired by contemporary philosophical schools of thought such as speculative realism and posthumanism, Špundová had already celebrated the end of anthropocentrism in her early projects (Commemorating the Death of Anthropocentrism, 2019) and called for a slowing down of the pace of the civilization which seems to be unsustainable due to climate change (Hajej, nynej, human, 2019). While her earlier work was primarily intended for galleries, her more recent projects perhaps seek to evade established institutional frameworks. In her works such as Svatyňka – #CCFF00 #C0C0C0 #000000 (2021) and Work, Butterfly! (Together) (2022), she goes beyond the logic of the white cube, staging specific stylized situations in the exteriors around Brno that assume the active participation of visitors. The participatory nature of these works, based on the principles of role-playing games (LARP), disrupts the established exchange between the creator and the viewer, and while the author becomes more of an initiator of the ongoing stories, the visitors are directly involved in the project, participating in its outcome. The productive role of all the persons involved not only allows for a collective awareness of mutual synergy, but the direct contact with the environment also points to more complex connections with other animals or ecosystems. In her conception, art becomes something to activate and stimulate mentally and physically, thus changing the existing approaches to the world. As part of the diploma exhibition, Špundová presents her final project 4 ELEMENTS (2023). Veronika Špundová is a graduate of the Combined Art Studies at the Masaryk University. She was a student of the Drawing and Graphics Studio at the FFA BUT, and now she is a graduate of the Video Studio at the same university under the supervision of Martin Mazanec and Jan Šrámek. She has exhibited at Nau Gallery, Zaazrak|Dornych, Garage Gallery, Umakart Gallery and the Polish art festival Młode Wilki.
