Kateřina Srbová

Kateřina Srbová (* 1997) definuje svoju dizajnérsku prax prostredníctvom spoluúčasti na dianí v Ateliéri grafického designu 1 (pod oficiálnym vedením Zuzany Kubíkovej) a s ním asociovanej platformy AGDX, ktorých je absolventkou. Platformu AGDX vníma ako bezpečný priestor, ktorý umožňuje kultiváciu dlhodobej spolupráce na prienikových témach jej členov. Takto vznikol, v spolupráci s Jakubom Poláchom, web Glossy Research (glossyresearch.org) ako súčasť Srbovej bakalárskej práce, ktorá kriticky reflektovala kategórie jedinečnosti, originality a autenticity ako konkurenčných výhod v kontextoch módneho a grafického designu. Glossy Research, ktorá bola navrhnutá ako kolaboratívna webová platforma, umožňuje zdieľať, nielen Srbovej, ale aj ďalším užívateľom, príspevky k, v bakalárskej práci riešenej, problematike.

Srbová sa sústreďuje na tvorbu rešerší pre nadväzujúci, kolektívny dizajnový proces. Tu si kladie otázky po základných podstatách riešených problematík, ku príkladu: „Čo môže znamenať varenie?“, „Čo môže znamenať kaviareň?“, v projekte a zoskupení kitchen.agdx. Základnú podstatu sa Srbová následne snaží, v dialógu s ostatnými členy*členkami aktuálnej pracovnej skupiny, navrhovať, formulovať a implementovať do spoločne vytváranej softwarovej infraštruktúry. Vo svojej diplomovej práci writer.axdx (2023) Srbová rešeršuje podklady a buduje argumentáciu pre nástroj umožňujúci tvorbu textu oprosteného od zaužívaných pravidiel formátovania, ktoré sú typické pre súčasné textové editory. writer.axdx má ambíciu vrátiť pozornosť svojho užívateľa k základnej podstate, k samotnému aktu tvorby textu, podľa užívateľových špecifických potrieb, nie podľa hraníc proprietárneho editora.

Kateřina Srbová (* 1997) defines her design practice through her participation in the Drawing and Graphics Studio 1 (under the official supervision of Zuzana Kubíková) of the FFA BUT and its associated platform AGDX, of which she is a graduate. She sees the AGDX platform as a safe space that allows the cultivation of long-term collaborations on the overlapping themes of its members. Thus, in collaboration with Jakub Polách, the Glossy Research website (glossyresearch.org) was created as part of Srbová’s bachelor’s thesis, which critically reflected on the categories of uniqueness, originality, and authenticity as competitive advantages in the contexts of fashion and graphic design. Glossy Research, which was designed as a collaborative web platform, enables the sharing of the contributions to the issues addressed in her bachelor’s thesis with other users, including Srbová.

Srbová focuses on the creation of research for the follow-up, collective design process. There, in the project and group called kitchen.agdx, she asks questions about the underlying merits of the issues addressed, for example: “What can cooking mean?”, “What can a café mean?”. Srbová has a dialogue with the other members of the group and tries to design, formulate and implement the basic essence of the jointly created software infrastructure. In her master’s thesis, writer.axdx (2023), Srbová researches the background material and builds an argument for a tool that enables the creation of a text free from the established formatting rules typical of current text editors. Through writer.axdx, Srbová has aimed to return a user’s attention to the basic essence, the act of creating a text according to the user’s specific needs, not according to the confines of a proprietary editor.
