Nela Maruškevič

Nela Maruškevič (* 1998) se zabývá médiem malby, specificky citlivým malířstvím v rozšířeném poli závěsného obrazu. Oprošťuje se od přímých odkazů na vnější krajinu, která je jejím nejdůležitějším inspiračním zdrojem, a převádí ji do členěné abstraktní plochy až do archetypálního obrazového zobrazení. Její vztah k přírodě graduje k intenzivnímu vnitřnímu prožitku, který však divákům*divačkám nepodbízí. Dává jim naopak prostor, aby její cykly maleb uchopili prostřednictvím své vlastní interpretace, která se sice stává osobní zpovědí, ale zároveň zasazuje její díla do širšího kontextu efemérních pocitů a tělesných dějů v člověku.

Diplomová práce Maruškevič Při vpuštění světla do pokoje (2023) vyniká vnitřní soudržností a krajní citlivostí, která se mísí již ve vybraném autorčině materiálu. Za působení malby, textilu, přízí, nitek a skla dává možnosti zobrazení v průniku a průchodu prostory, které se setkávají v trojrozměrném uskupení vně obrazu a proudí ven v pohybu energií. Cyklus maleb středního formátu nevzniká na základě rozumového konceptu. Krajina zde stejně jako v předchozích pracích funguje jako hlavní esence fragmentů, které mají návaznost na autorčiny niterné prožitky. Ze závěsného klasického média malby tak vychází morfologie změti dalších materiálů (převážně nitek), které se lineárně spojují někde v kosmickém prostoru galerie v podobě organického skleněného tvaru určitých buněk. Její rukopis se odráží v gestické kompozici organických ploch s jemným efektem rozpíjené barevnosti a ohraničených exaktních lineárních prvků příze na plátně, které nám připomínají zhmotnění meditace, ticha či určitého bezčasí.

Nela Maruškevič absolvovala Ateliér malířství 2 u Luďka Rathouského na FaVU VUT v Brně. Součástí studia byla zahraniční stáž na lotyšské Akademii umění v Rize. Během studia vystavovala v lokální jablonecké Galerii Kaplička, v Seidlově vile ve Ždánicích, také v Liberci a participovala na festivalu Tehláreň v Liptovském Mikuláši na Slovensku. Aktuální tvorbu prezentovala v Distillery a galerii SOLO offspace v Brně nebo galerii Jelení v Praze.

Nela Maruškevič (* 1998) deals with the medium of painting, specifically, sensitive painting in the expanded field of the hung picture. She frees herself from direct references to the external landscape, which is her most important source of inspiration, and transforms it into a structured abstract surface, even into an archetypal pictorial representation. Her relationship with nature progresses to an intense inner experience. However, she does not pander to the viewers. Rather, she gives them space to grasp her cycles of paintings through their own interpretations, which, while becoming personal confessions, also place her works in the broader context of the ephemeral feelings and bodily processes of the human being.

Her diploma thesis When Letting Light into a Room (2023) stands out for its internal coherence and extreme sensitivity, which are already combined in the author’s chosen material. Under the influence of painting, textiles, yarns, threads and glass, she shows the possibilities of representation in the intersections and passages through spaces that meet in a three-dimensional grouping outside the painting, and flow outwards in a movement of energies. Her series of medium-format paintings is not based on a rational concept. There, as in her previous works, the landscape functions as the main essence of fragments that have a connection to the artist’s inner experiences. From the hung classical medium of painting thus emerges a morphology of a jumble of other materials (mostly threads) that linearly join somewhere in the cosmic space of the gallery in the form of organic glass shapes of certain cells. Her handwriting is reflected in the gestural composition of organic surfaces with the subtle effect of diffused colour and the bounded exact linear elements of yarn on canvas, which evoke the materialisation of meditation, silence, and a certain timelessness.

Nela Maruškevič graduated from Painting Studio 2 under Luděk Rathouský at the FFA BUT. Her studies also included an internship at the Latvian Academy of Arts in Riga. She has exhibited at the Jablonec Kaplička Gallery, at Seidl Villa in Ždánice and in Liberec. She participated in the Tehláreň Festival in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia. She has also presented her current work at the Distillery and SOLO offspace Gallery in Brno and at the Jelení Gallery in Prague.
