Clusters and Hybrids
Experimentation of compositions using both digital and analogue skills. This project includes advanced digital modeling techniques, rendering, and Photoshop using collages to construct larger ‘clusters’ and ‘hybrids’ of objects and environments. These collaged compositions include settings (i.e. urban or landscapes). The programs used are: Maya, Blender, Houdini, and Photoshop. Using Photoshop collages (images, advanced digital modeling, and renderings) to construct Systems and dense Landscapes. The work focuses on narratives and concepts, technical and material specificity, geometries, systems, and environmental realities (light, texture, depth of space and atmosphere) as hybrid, layered, and dynamic compositions.

This image’s narrative is a physical manifestation of a polluted city. The atmospheric pollution creates monstrous like forms and objects that resurfaces from the earth. “Maya 2018” was used for modelling and rendering the texture on the diagonal objects and “Blender” was used for creating the landscape. Both were collaged along with the polluted atmospheric images in Photoshop to create the final output.
This project’s narrative is creating a galaxy made with earthly materials that are used in an urban city. Hence, the planets are made by glass cylinders wrapped in a concrete interconnected form. While the galaxy seems to be made of aluminum fiber strings with a hybrid of an enclosed structure made of steel.

“Houdini” was used for modelling the landscape and the objects, then collaged with galaxy atmospheric images in “Photoshop” to create a Galaxy City imagery.

Muwaileh Library
A semi urban area in First Avenue cafe (Muwaileh street) in Sharjah, U.A.E. This area contains residential, commercial (restaurants and facilities), and industrial buildings. It is within proximity from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) connected by the Sheikh Zayed main road. Building a library in this area is effective for its users in Muwaileh and for the frequent students coming from AUS. With accessibility provided by empty parking lots and pedestrian site levels as well as vehicles coming from surface roads. Furthermore, the site has an open view to the street that makes it easy to locate and the surrounding high-rise buildings provide shade from high sunlight intensity as well.
