CEC Students Participate in the Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show There were six talented student designers from the Fashion Design and Clothing careers from CEC Middle College who enthusiastically joined and shared their crafts and works in the Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show sponsored by Goodwill. The concept of the whole show was fashioned and inspired by reality TV fashion shows like Project Runway.

The CEC student designers actually came head to head with other great talented designers from Denver School of Arts. They all worked hard, hoping to get into the top three and hopefully win whole thing.

The designers have to create designs and dresses from items purchased from Goodwill stores and their budget is, would you believe - $25.00, and they have to spend no more than that.

Participating in this show is a great training and experience for these up and coming designers, giving them the opportunity not only to showcase their designs and talent, but above all to experience the pressure and the fun of the real fashion world.

The interesting part of these concept and creation is the imagination and creativity of the student designers. How they could turn items you would have not thought of to use on a dress can actually turn out into an exquisite design and you would have not guessed the dresses were made from those materials.

It is where their artistry and creativity are put unto a test, like how far their imagination is and how they can visualize and or put a concept into their piece. The whole show was a success and once again, CEC students proved to be ones to beat and designers to keep an eye on, and who knows one day you’ll be wearing one of their designs. They have used various items, from bed sheets or scrap materials, thrown away items or some donated clothing put and mixed matched together, placed here and there, and then like magically turns into something so beautiful.

There were a lot coats and jackets and they definitely stole the most. They were very current, but they also have a touch in them that is fresh and really chic and glamorous.

LCI Jakarta on Palm Awards Indonesia indeed has a lot of young talents, especially in the field or arts, fashion and designing. In 2012, LaSalle College International Jakarta held a one of a kind show, with a collaboration of photography, fashion and design and artistic makeup.

It was a show remember, apart from the wide array of collections and designs, creative photography and impressive style and techniques in make-ups, everyone who came had a blast and wonderful experience, not only did they enjoy the show but learned a lot as well. The theme of the show is today’s favorite, especially the younger generations who are so much into computer games, cartoons, “emu” and all that funky “lady gaga” looks, they call the show – “anime”

If Lady Gaga was there, she surely would be in awe with all the remarkable creations by these talented students who were inspired by her style, really impressive.

The interesting about the collections is that, they were more wearable than hers. The concept was there but hers is only fitted for Lady Gaga alone and for stage presentation.

There were ten talented student fashion designers, artistic make-up artists and photographers who competed for that night, they were individually talented and creative but equally as good, however the judges have to choose 3 finalists as winners.

There were about six garments known as, Gaga goes Batik collections, that part was the highlight of the night. The creative and artistic design plus the make-ups and the hair-do’s by the artistic make up students and the background video graphics and sounds and lighting made the collection really stunning and much, much funkier and better Lady Gaga-ish Look. It was a total stand out.

The students are expected to compete and excel in the nationals and international competitions. Excelling of course will not be a surprise; after all they were all undeniably talented and creative.

Nene Park Academy Student Fashion Show There were 16 students from Nene Park Academy who posted and walked the runway modeling collections of local designers and some student designers of Peterborough to raise funds for their World Challenge expedition to Peru next summer, and they have indeed succeeded for coming up with a great show.

All their efforts were totally worth it, they had gathered more people than expected, some industry’s professionals and fashion celebs came to witness the show, join in the fun, to search for new talents and or designs but more so, to give and share their own contribution and become part of this charity show. A range of local designers and boutiques took charge of the collections, from the clothing to shoes, accessories and bags the models would model, make-ups and hair dos were also contributed by local salon and the models themselves volunteered for the show. It was also the students who worked from the stage, music, backgrounds, logos and invitations and the whole show and how it would go about.

It was tough for the students, since they were all new and have no professional experience so far and to walk there with hundreds of eyes looking at you is nerve wracking, yet they have all bravely made it through, determined to raise what was needed for to help on a “community regeneration project.

Everybody chipped in their own ideas and contributed their labor and whatever they could and have to share for the realization of their goals and objectives.

Nene Park Academy students raise thousands of pounds and achieved to promote participation, leadership, giving and excellence.
