Curriculum Strategy Technology
During the 2024–25 school year, faculty and administrators reviewed our daily academic schedule to ensure that we were maximizing the time between the start and end of each school day. As a result of their work, we aligned our Lower and Upper Division schedules to increase the amount of time students spent in classrooms and with their teachers. Additionally, this will provide our Grade 4 students with a smoother transition to Upper School, allow faculty to be more available to students in both divisions, and optimize shared resources.
As the school begins to prepare for its Centennial in 2029, it does so mindful of our history AND the tools and skills students will need to be successful in high school, college, and beyond.
The delivery of education in the 21st century requires that schools and their teachers and staff be constantly evaluating and reviewing curriculum and teaching methods Thanks to the support of families through previously created endowment funds for professional development or gifts made during the school year, our faculty and staff are regularly considering how best to teach our academic and character programs.
The 2024–25 school year saw a revitalization of our STEAM and robotics/coding program, including an expanded curriculum and new learning opportunities for students. We continue to find new ways to use our Learning Commons, and look to add a digital photography elective and afterschool robotics clubs for students beginning in Grade 3. By design, the Learning Commons is a space where creativity is encouraged and students can be working on a variety of projects at the same time
WITH GRATITUDE
Your voluntary support throughout the 2024–2025 school year exemplified our community's steadfast commitment of time, talent, and resources to benefit Far Hills students, faculty, staff, and each other. Because of your dedication, students experienced enriched learning opportunities, faculty felt supported in their teaching, and our community grew even stronger Together, you helped ensure that every child at Far Hills continues to thrive in an environment that fosters curiosity, confidence, and character.
WHY DONATE?
SupportFaculty: You help us attract and retain the talented educators who dedicate their time and passion to nurturing our students.
EmpowerOurStudents: Your generosity helps us provide innovative learning experiences, enhanced technology, and extracurricular activities that inspire our students.
StrengthenOurCommunity: Together, we can create a community that promotes inclusivity, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Teachers
Over the last two years, our special events have helped raise money for two significant campus enhancements
At the start of the 2024–25 school year, we opened a new and improved Lower School playground thanks to the generosity of donors at our Casino Night in 2024. In the Spring of 2025, students and teachers began visiting the pond and the outdoor learning space that surrounds it. Both projects were funded primarily by efforts in previous years, but maintaining them and all areas of our campus requires the generosity of our families through gifts to the Annual Fund.
Many will remember the school’s first MSAC Boys Lacrosse championship this past Spring, but our Athletic Program has never been one to measure itself by just the wins and losses. Our students continue to be taught to respect their teammates, their coaches, the referees, and their opponents Other schools enjoy coming to our campus for games because of our outstanding facilities. And our Ropes Course is one-ofa-kind for a school of our size and student body.
The strength of the Far Hills community starts with its caring and committed faculty and staff While we face a national teacher shortage, Far Hills remains a school where teachers want to work. Whether it’s our students, our facilities, or the resources available to them, we are fortunate to be able to retain and attract excellent teachers
Families and alumni often speak to the impact of their Far Hills teachers. The generosity of our community is instrumental in our ability to employ teachers, staff, and administrators who are committed to providing a caring and supportive educational environment.
JOIN THE CIRCLE OF GIVING!
We would love to feature your name in our next Impact Report of Giving, showcasing the collective strength of our supporters. Your participation in the Annual Fund not only reflects your commitment to our mission but also sets a powerful example for current and future families
Your contributions to our Annual Fund directly support our students, programs, and the vibrant community that makes Far Hills a special place to learn and grow
In every school community, there are families whose generosity lifts everyone higher. Their financial contributions may represent a gift to one fund or gifts to several areas of need. Their unwavering support strengthens every corner of our school: academics, arts, athletics, safety and security, and beyond. We celebrate the following donors whose generosity sets a powerful example, all in support of our students and teachers.

EVENTFUNDRAISING
Far Hills’ special events play a crucial role in the school's annual fundraising and community-building efforts. Dollars raised through our events are critical to the operation of the school and its ability to deliver an educational program that makes a difference in the lives of our students and makes us a leader in Preschool–Grade 8 education. Additionally, volunteers and attendees help contribute to the creation and development of lifelong relationships among our parents, which is a hallmark of Far Hills Country Day School.
SUPPORT, SAVOR, AND SIP
On Friday, November 15, the Far Hills community took over the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park. Even before the first guests walked through the door, the night was set up for success thanks to the wonderful efforts of our Event chairs, Kat Bucchieri, Kasey Schwartz, and Beth Vartuli. In addition to dinner and a creative selection of silent auction items, guests enjoyed wine pairings from Cree Wine Company (parents of alumni Kathy and Chris Cree) and a bourbon tasting by Penelope Bourbon (current parents Candice and Danny Polise).
Following the opportunity to “Savor” and “Sip”, guests supported the school as part of the festive and energetic live auction. Guests bid on a dinner and shopping experience at FAO Schwartz, an escape to Napa Valley, a Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby trip, and the very desirable Sleepover with Mrs Zaiser.
In addition to our chairs, many, many thanks to the following volunteers for their time and effort in creating a lovely evening for all: Dasha Berkman, Hallie Berutich, Josephine Isgro, Danik Kean, Lindsay Mader, Alison Meyer, Sonal Patel, Helen Plummer, Candice Polise, Tucky Ridder, and Pam Surak.
Thanks to the generosity of the following businesses for their donations and financial support, the evening was a wonderful success. Please remember to thank and acknowledge their support as you visit or frequent them.

GOLF & PICKLEBALL CLASSIC
On a beautiful Spring day in April, members of the Far Hills community and generous corporate underwriters of the event enjoyed a day of pickleball and golf, followed by a putting contest for all guests and our Spring Social dinner, all at Roxiticus Golf Club. Committee members PJ Calello, Andrew Egginton, Sasha Lucas, Sonal Patel, Kasey Schwartz, Heather and Steve Swartz, Beth Vartuli, and Ben Zeidler helped create a day that continued our tradition of a fun golf outing while incorporating pickleball for players and spectators alike.
New this year, the pickleball was part clinic and part competition and 100% fun. In addition to the action on the courts, several Far Hills community members came to cheer and watch. Following a shotgun start at noon, foursomes competed for low score prizes while specific holes were set up for longest drive, closest to the pin, and even a hole-in-one prize sponsored by Maplecrest Ford. As golfers returned to the clubhouse after their round, guests to the Spring Social arrived. Before heading into dinner, guests gathered on the 18th hole and took aim in the putting contest under the watchful eyes of over 100 spectators.

FIELD DAY OF GIVING
Our annual Field Day of Giving on May 22 and 23, 2025, was again an overwhelming success, showcasing the incredible generosity and spirit of our community. This special 24-hour giving day brought everyone together in support of our beloved school, transcending the friendly rivalry of Team Green and Team White.
Unlike our traditional Field Day, where students compete as Team Green vs. Team White, the Field Day of Giving is a powerful reminder that when it comes to supporting Far Hills Country Day School, we are all on the same team. The collective spirit displayed by our families, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends was truly inspiring.
To add an element of excitement to the giving day, donors had the opportunity to be entered into various raffles throughout the 24hour period. These raffles were a small token of our appreciation for the incredible support shown by our community. The success of Field Day of Giving 2025 highlights the spirit and commitment of the Far Hills Country Day School community. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed.
Your ongoing support ensures that our school continues to thrive and provide unparalleled opportunities for our students. We look forward to another successful Field Day of Giving in May 2026!

THE BETTY NOLING ENDOWMENT
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Far Hills Country Day School students and teachers were treated to an assembly with the Thunderbird American Indian Dancers. The assembly was made possible by the Betty Noling Endowment.
The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers incorporate music and dance from various Native American cultures, highlighting the depth and complexity of their different societies. Through assemblies like the one funded by the Betty Noling Endowment, students are encouraged to appreciate the history and cultural diversity of Native American people.
THE LAMBERT F. WHETSTONE ENDOWMENT
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Far Hills Country Day School faculty participated in a professional development workshop funded by the Whetstone Endowment and facilitated by The Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL). Following up on work the teachers had done with The CTTL in August about neuroplasticity and how the brain works, teachers spent the afternoon developing lessons designed to meet the students where they are developmentally and help students retain valuable knowledge in their long-term memories.
Teachers examined and evaluated their own and each other's teaching practices and worked to adapt them to the learners we have in front of us each day. Teachers in both divisions spent the day together, exploring new pathways to enhance the learning experiences of our students.
GINA M. MCCARTHY PERFORMING ARTS ENDOWMENT
In the summer of 2024, Gina's mother, Vinnie Montrone, honored her daughter's love of and talent in the performing arts by establishing the Gina M. McCarthy Performing Arts Endowment. This new endowment will benefit all aspects of the performing arts at Far Hills by providing resources for our students, teachers, and the Performing Arts Center (PAC)
Supporting "tomorrow's needs", the endowment will help provide resources for the PAC as well as contribute annual support for materials and production-related expenses
RESTRICTED GIFTS IN SUPPORT OF FAR HILLS
Restricted gifts match donor interests with institutional needs. As the 2024–25 school year began, Deanna and Caesar DePaço generously made a gift to fund a full-time Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO III) to be on campus during the school day.
In the spring of 2024, Far Hills began conversations with the Bernardsville Police Department about securing a full-time officer on campus. The DePaço family's commitment to safety in educational settings helped make the addition of an SLEO possible and provides an additional layer of safety and security to our continued measures and campus enhancements.
