FAMILY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY CENTER GRAND OPENING FSA is proud to announce that the Family Economic Opportunity Center powered by Bank of America is now open. A ceremonial grand opening with local dignitaries and Bank of America officials was held on Wednesday, November 4th. The Family Economic Opportunity Center is located at the Spruce Family Success Center. The program is available to all FSA families and is being coordinated by Joe Molineaux who will serve as Director.

Joe will present workshops and work with FSA families. The program is designed to help identify and create realistic economic opportunity goals and move individuals and families forward through employment and business opportunities. The program will be powered through a Neighborhood Builder Grant by Bank of America. FSA received $200,000 in flexible funding to assist individuals and families in job development, skill building, and training, as the recent casino closures and lingering effects of Hurricane Sandy impact employment opportunities in Southern New Jersey.

HOLIDAY DRIVE The 2015 FSA Holiday Drive was a complete success! Our corporate partners including Borgata, Shoprite, Spencer’s Gifts, Spirit of Halloween, Ocean Heights Presbyterian Church, DePaul Healthcare and a host of other local businesses & organizations made this year's Holiday Drive an unforgettable season for many children. FSA is deeply appreciative for the continued partnership and assistance from many area residents to fulfill wish lists and sponsor large families. The Holiday Drive granted over 1,800 children's holiday wishes and helped us enrich so many lives.

THE JOURNEY STRATEGIC PLAN At the January Board meeting, the FSA Strategic Plan was adopted for FY’17- FY’19. The Strategic Plan is intended to inform decision making and Agency resource allocation.

Strategic planning is a process of discovery, reflection, discussion and priority setting through which an organization, like FSA, defines its overarching direction and strategy. Through this process, goals are established and objectives and outcomes developed. A good strategic planning process generates goals that are aspirational, but also practical and achievable, through a broadbased process that depends upon the participation and engagement of every individual within the organization.

Strategic Planning works best when everyone is informed and included. Program Managers will soon be meeting with their Teams to guide them through the annual goals and objectives as they relate to their departments. Progress will be monitored though regular meetings with both Senior Team and Managers.

YEAR-END CORPORATE GIFTS A special thank you to the Stroser Foundation for their donation of $2,500 and the Borgata Heart and Soul Foundation for the year-end gift of $1,500.

MLK DAY OF SERVICE On January 18, 2016, Stockton University students and advisors partnered with FSA for the 12th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Projects included archive room clean up to improve our case file storage. Volunteers worked as a team to prepare documents to be shredded. Additionally, volunteers sorted and organized donations at the Bargain Boutique. Service volunteers also assisted at New Day Family Success Center in Galloway where there were engagement projects with children and families.

GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren is a new program at FSA and is for or caregivers, age 55 and older, who are taking care of relative children in Atlantic County. The program assists caregivers with one-time emergency assistance or respite services for relative children within the home. To access GRG services, caregivers can call 609-569-0239 and speak with the intake coordinator at ext. 1117. Please help us get the word out and promote the valuable services offered at FSA.

IN THE PRESS - SCHOOL BASED YOUTH SERVICES - TEEN CENTER The Teen Center, located at Egg Harbor Township High School, was recently featured in an edition of The Current of EHT. At EHTHS for over a decade, the Teen Center provides much needed services to students both in school and through a community network. Congrats to Brittany, Erica, Ray, Stacey, & Marianne for all the work you do on behalf of our students. CALL CENTER STATISTICS (OCTOBER 1, 2015-DECEMBER 31, 2015) Access processed 706 phone calls for the time period of 10.1.15 through 12.31.15 and provided 119 appointments. Out of those calls, 244 were provided with referrals to other agencies.
