2023 2024 TO TO Your Guide FAIRFIELD CITY
@FC.FrankCarbone
As your Mayor, I am honoured and committed to serve this wonderfully diverse community.
My commitment to the City has always been to make Fairfield a great place to live, work, play and raise a family. Council continues to invest in high quality services and facilities for the community.
We have had a successful year full of many highlights including the opening of the reconstructed Floyd Bay boat ramp, the third stage of Fairfield Showground
Memory Walk, Cabravale Memorial Park playground and the International Monument in Fairfield City Centre. There were also many upgrades at our leisure centres and Council will continue to invest in upgrading infrastructure, parking, play equipment, parks, sporting facilities, town centres, community buildings, roads, footpaths and kerbs and much more.
Fairfield City has one of the lowest Council rates in metropolitan Sydney. See the ‘your rates at work’ section to find how your rates compare with neighbouring councils,
and how rates contribute to making this a great City. This is important for our community’s future to support the health and wellbeing of all residents. This guide outlines all the services, events and upcoming infrastructure and projects we are developing for you here in Fairfield City.

EXCITING PROGRAM OF NEW WORKS
Council continues to invest in a transformational works program with new and upgraded infrastructure improving liveability across the City.
Just over $26.5 million in funding was secured from the NSW Government’s WestInvest program which will go towards the construction of a new Multicultural and Sporting Centre at Fairfield Showground, as well as upgrades to Endeavour Sports Park in Fairfield West; Avenel Park in Canley Vale and Brenan Park in Smithfield. Works are nearing completion at Bareena Park, Canley Vale and Fairfield Heights Park playgrounds, made possible by a $4 million grant from the NSW Government Public Spaces Legacy Program.
Bareena Park now has an iconic eight-metre tall koi fish slide and climbing rope feature, as well as new swings, carousels, spinners, rockers, seesaws, musical equipment, shaded toddler play area, outdoor gym, learn-to-ride circuit track and sheltered picnic areas.
LOOK AND FEEL PRECEDENT
Fairfield Heights Park’s playground includes a large treehouse with slide, as well as accessible play equipment, swings, flying fox, water play area, learn-to-ride track and more.
IMAGERY
These significant projects will be delivered in line with a number of other revitalisation projects like upgrades to local roads and transport ($22.5 million), new and upgraded footpaths ($4.2 million), renewal to public buildings ($8.7 million) and upgrades to playgrounds and sportsfields ($5.1 million).
