Quadrilatero d’Oro If you’re all about the shopping, this is the place to go. The area is made up of picturesque cobbled streets, lined with top designer boutiques like Chanel, Versace, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Cartier and so many more luxury stores. The heart of the neighborhood lies in Via Monte Napoleone, where Italian culture is alive in terms of museums, cafes and historic palazzi can be found amongst the modernday swag of glossy brands. Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper Possibly one of the world’s most famous murals, The Last Supper is a joy to seek and adore. It’s hidden away on a wall of the refectory adjoining the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie. When you do find it, you’ll see a depiction of Christ and his disciples, one of the most iconic and dramatic moments events in history. You’ll have to book in advance to be astonished by its beauty, which you will get to marvel 62

Cathedral in Duomo This 600-year-old Gothic cathedral is a great reflection of the city’s creative ambitions and extravagance. The pink Candoglia structure stands with a staggering 135 spires and 3400 statues, rising high like something from a fairytale. Large stained-glass windows adorn the inside – making it a worth while visit if you’re a fan of old-school architecture. Don’t forget your camera, this is one of the best spots to capture an instagram-worthy photo.

Castello Sforzesco Made up of 12 mini-museums and archives running all the way from Palaeolithic history through to 1950s

furniture, this place was home to the noble Visconti family from 1368, and restored to its original splendour by the equally aristocratic Sforzas in the 1450s. Coming to a spindly point above the façade is an early 20th-century recreation of a tower originally built by the 15th-century architect Antonio Averlino, dubbed Il Filarete. There’s a stunning courtyard, beautiful sculptures and the best of Renaissance style.
