From the General Manager
Dear Members,
It’s a privilege to look back on another remarkable year at Prince’s Grant - a year filled with progress, teamwork, and a shared commitment to making our estate the best it can be. Our recent AGM was a wonderful reflection of this spirit, with over 170 members participating and all fourteen resolutions passing. It’s encouraging to see such strong engagement and support from our community.
Across the year, we’ve made meaningful strides in many areas. Governance and compliance remain solid, with all licences and estate policies up to date. Our partnership with local and national authorities has strengthened, from securing a five-year tree maintenance licence to continued collaboration with KwaDukuza
Municipality and the Department of Transport.
Financially, the HOA remains in a strong position. A healthy surplus allowed us to invest in important capital projects, while keeping levy increases modest. The new Vodacom tower lease provides valuable long-term income security. Communication and lifestyle continue to evolve, too. The Prince’s Grant App and PG Pulse have made it easier than ever to stay informed and connected. Families are enjoying the upgraded children’s facilities and lagoon picnic area, and we’re excited to confirm that Padel and pickleball courts are on the way! Behind the scenes, we’ve
worked hard to strengthen our infrastructure - improving water filtration, installing new backup inverters, and planning for longterm water security through a detailed hydrocensus study.
As we look ahead, I want to thank every homeowner, staff member, and board representative for your continued support. Together, we’ve built a community that is not only beautiful but strong, caring, and forward-looking.
Warm regards,
Bruce Hurley General Manager
From the Commercial Manager
We say this far too often these days, but honestlywhere did 2025 go? I genuinely enjoy writing these annual reports. They offer the perfect moment to hit pause, reflect on the year that’s passed, and celebrate everything the Lodge teams have accomplished. We all get caught up in the daily whirlwind of operations, so taking a step back to appreciate the progress and growth can feel wonderfully therapeutic.
The past few months have seen quite a bit of movement within our staffing team, with a few Managers coming and going in a short space of time, and new team members being trained in the Prince’s Grant way of doing things.
I’m a checklist kind of guy, so there’s certainly been plenty to get through! What stands out, though, is how much we’ve gained from these changes. The cross-training within the team has been phenomenal, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stepped up and embraced the process. The individual growth, commitment, and teamwork I’ve witnessed have been inspiring and will undoubtedly strengthen the Lodge and HOA in the future.
We’re proud to have secured multi-year collaborations with SAB, CCBSA, and Illy, all bringing exciting investment and energy to the Lodge. You’ll notice some of the upgrades already: new branded parasols around the property, a stunning copper U-bar installation, a light bar revamp planned soon, and new state-ofthe-art coffee machines for both the Bar and Lodge rooms. Even our front-of-house uniforms have been refreshed, adding a pop of colour and a vibrant new feel to the Restaurant floor.
Our bi-annual menu updates continue to be well-received, and I think both our kitchen team and guests have enjoyed the seasonal changes. The new summer menu launches in November, featuring familiar favourites alongside a few fresh,
creative dishes our chefs have been perfecting behind the scenes.
We’re all eagerly looking forward to the festive season and the wonderful buzz that comes with it. Residents returning, guests arriving, and a calendar full of events and activities across the Estate. I’m also proud to say that Prince’s Grant was the first to secure a 3-metre fresh Christmas tree this year! I think we even beat the supermarkets to it. Keep an eye out for our festive promotions.
Lodge (priced by weight). Collections will take place on 24 December, and pre-orders are essential. The Poolside Playground returns, running every second day at the main pool area, and our Christmas Carols at the 6th Dam promises to be another magical community evening under the summer sky. Two Friday Night Live events are planned, featuring some fantastic local KZN musicians. The Pool Bar and Beach Food Trailer will be open daily, and of course, our legendary
The popular Pressure Cooker is back! Skip the kitchen this Christmas and order your cooked and glazed gammon from the
Year-End Quiz Night returns on 17 December. Christmas Day lunch bookings are filling up faster than ever, so booking early to avoid disappointment can never be stressed enough!
Our famous New Year’s Eve Bash is shaping up to be even bigger than last year’s incredible event, which drew over a thousand guests. This year, we’ll also be adding The Grid - Teens Zone available daily at the Jeremy Stubbs CC, plus a special “Little Theatre” for the younger ones in the States Room between 6-9 p.m., complete with movies, popcorn, sweet cart, and child minding. All of this so the adults can relax on the Lodge patio, raise a glass to the Impala as they wander by, and take in all the beauty and spirit that makes Prince’s Grant so special. Yoh, it’s going to be an incredible season. Can’t wait to see you all!
