NATIONAL EVENTS & MEMBERS’ COORDINATION

After two years of having to host restricted events or not even being able to host events whatsoever, I can happily say that EYP Switzerland’s events are officially back! 2022 has been a very good year for the National Events department. After the Annual General Meeting in February, we had a total of five events for our members and a total of more than 60 people attending the events!

In April we held a Town Hall in Berne. At the Town Hall, members and board members of EYP CH came together to discuss the workings of our organisation. Members came with questions, suggestions and other input concerning EYP Switzerland and how we can improve. This was a successful and fruitful event with interesting and important discussions followed by a delicious brunch! We hope to continue hosting a Town Hall on a yearly basis!

In the beginning of July, we had our annual summer event where we had a lovely picnic at the Rentenwiese in Zurich and went swimming.

A couple of months later, the National Selection Conference 2022 was held in Basel. Towards the end of the NSC, the organisers of the session had planned a monochrome-themed party which was open to all members of EYP Switzerland. A big thank you to everyone who put so much effort into the NSC Basel, it was an amazing session!

Following the NSC Basel, our annual Members’ Weekend took place in Berne. Over thirty people joined the weekend to attend modules on interesting topics like becoming a chairperson, going abroad with EYP and much more. The modules were kindly held by our more experienced members as well as board members. Aside from attending modules, we spent the weekend getting to know each other, cooking, eating and playing games.

Our last event of the year was the Holiday Dinner. More than forty members of EYP Switzerland came together in Zurich to celebrate the festive season. We celebrated with fondue, mulled wine, games, gift giving and a 2022 quiz. It was very exciting to see so many new faces at this event!

Now that we are moving on from the pandemic, I am very excited to see what is in store for us in 2023!

This portfolio also handles any new request to become a member of EYP Switzerland, and we had a few requests this year that did not come from participants of our Regional Sessions. They are all advised on how to join EYP CH and get the most from the network, be it by attending the upcoming events or directly sign up for our regional sessions.
