Events

The year 2022 had quite a lot of exciting events to offer in terms of international meetings discussing policies and strategies for the future of the network. Although I could not attend all of the events myself, I was thrilled to see great collaboration within the board enabling the representation of EYP Switzerland in important events of the network. With this, Vice-President and National Coordinator Can Keskinaslan represented EYP Switzerland in Poland at the HR Summit in Warsaw, Poland and External Relations Board Member Johannes Hahn represented the NC at the autumn BNC in Berlin. Altogether we have gained a lot of insights and were able to exchange ideas with our broader network.

Delegates coming to CH

All in all, we were supposed to welcome 28 international delegates at the National Selection Conference Basel 2022. These delegates came from the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Bulgaria. It was truly an exciting opportunity to support National Committees from close by but also from far away and welcome them for an exchange of scenery.

Delegates going abroad

When I took over the portfolio there were a few open ends, where the session promised to selected delegates from Biel 2021 were not able to attend the events. Thus, I did my best to find spots for the affected delegations abroad and sent delegates to sessions in Ljubljana and Sarajevo.

Next to that, we were able to send delegates abroad for the summer International Session of the Network in Riga and Kortrijk as planned. For this year’s NSC 70 out of 90 Swiss delegates were offered a spot to participate in a session abroad. Given that there are currently fewer ISs and IFs than in previous years, I was very pleased with the outcome and I am excited to see our delegates get the chance to go abroad.

Projects

At International events, I have discussed the possibility of a cultural exchange with National Committees in similar positions like Switzerland. One partner that became very obvious was the NC of Norway. However, due to their current commitments with the International Session in Tromsø and our commitments to our National Events, no concrete plans were able to be set in motion.
