How long have you been in business?
The Josette Boutique has been open for an incredible 17 months! We feel truly blessed to have found a wonderful location on Pine Street in my hometown of Burlington, WI. Nestled in historic
downtown, we’re surrounded by restaurants, pubs, antique shops, and more. We love bringing a sophisticated and contemporary women’s boutique to our amazing customers from southeast Wisconsin and the surrounding area!
How did you get started?
The Josette jewelry brand was created decades ago, and over the years, I, Jessica McLaughlin, have honed my skills as a jewelry maker. My journey began at artisan markets, where I learned firsthand about customer preferences and the intricacies of the industry. Today, I continue to handcraft pearl earrings, bracelets, and necklaces using semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls, blending trending designs with timeless classics, all available exclusively at the Josette Boutique.
Custom orders remain an important part of the business, including personalized pieces for brides, bridesmaids, and other special occasions.
What changes have you seen over the time open?
Over the past 17 months, Josette has expanded its line of women’s clothing to offer a larger selection. Our fall and winter collection features cozy sweaters, handbags, and contemporary high-end denim brands that mirror those found in top boutiques from Chicago to Milwaukee. With a deep understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, color, and style, Josette maintains a modern, elevated vibe.
We take pride in connecting with our customers to meet their needs—whether it’s clothing, wardrobe organization, special event styling, accessorizing, gift giving, or clean beauty. At Josette Boutique, we strive to make every shopping experience thoughtful and personalized.
What do you most Love about your Industry?
I’ve always believed that clothing and accessories have the power to change how we feel about ourselves. I love curating a collection that inspires confidence and joy in thousands of women—it’s truly the most rewarding part of owning a boutique.
For me, this journey is all about empowerment. Helping women discover their best selves through style and beauty is what Josette Boutique is all about.
What are some of the common myths you come across in your business?
I don’t focus on myths or negativity— I believe in staying positive and passionate about what I do! In retail, loving your work and sharing that energy is so important. I make it a priority to connect with and support others in the industry.

How long have you been in business?
The Wreath Factory has been in business for 42 years since 1983! We were named by Today’s Garden Center Magazine as one of the Top 100 Independent Garden Centers in America, we’ve earned a reputation for outstanding customer service and a unique shopping experience. How did you get started?
It all began in 1983 when Michael Beeck was asked to help raise funds for a small Wisconsin 4-H Club, the Johnsonville Hustlers. Michael made fresh evergreen wreaths for the groups to sell at Christmas. In the early years, Michael and his crew of family & friends would hand make custom wreaths in a shack with no running water or heat. Early family and friends remember heating rocks and standing on them to keep their feet warm! As the years continued, Jeff Buser joined Michael, to take a small wreath-making operation and turn it into what is now known as The Wreath Factory and Otter Creek Landscape. The 8 acre site houses an impressive 16,000-square-feet destination Home & Garden showroom with a full-scale landscape design and building firm. Every year the showroom begins its transformation into a Winter
Wonderland in September and is complete by November 1st. A magical Holiday vibe is created across the entire retail space, making it hard not to get into the mood. The Wreath Factory remains the best source for fresh Holiday Wreaths and Greenery in the area! Fresh evergreen wreaths are produced annually in November and December and are available in our retail store and shipped all over the country! How knowledgeable and talented our team is in addition to the 1000’s of unique items that our buyers scour for when they spend tireless hours at markets near and far.
What are you most proud of?
The journey that we and our team have been down to come from a one room “shack” to a 16,000 square foot welcoming showroom that sits on eight acres that serves as home base to our retail, garden center, landscape and wreath making entities.

We fluctuate between 25-49 team members. We peak during the holiday season to make sure our loyal customers’ Holiday traditions are met.

The longevity that our team members stay with us and watching them help one another succeed as a team.

Dickens of a Christmas Downtown Ripon ~ December 5-6, 2025
Experience the Victorian era by strolling up and down the streets Ripon’s downtown historic district during Dickens of a Christmas. The festival begins on Friday evening with the Dickens Holiday Parade. The lighted parade proceeds through the downtown historic district and features area floats, musical groups, and of course Santa. All parade entrants are encouraged to “light it up” by adding as many festive lights to their displays as possible.
Saturday kicks off with Breakfast with Santa, and the Holiday Tour of Homes. Living Windows is the highlight of the festival, which takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Saturday evening.
Over 20 storefronts are decorated with characters depicting old time setting. Other weekend activities include the Enchanted Forest, Gingerbread House Contest, and more! Carolers will stroll through the streets spreading holiday cheer.
