Exupery International School A Day and Boarding School for boys and girls from age 2.5 to 19 years old

Welcome from our Founder Like the great humanist and writer Antoine de Saint-ExupÊry, I believe that "only the children know what they are looking for. The task of all adults is to guide them to find it. "The Little Prince" is one of the most beloved and significant books in my life. It reminds adults of what was important when they were little children, and also manages to teach us that important things happen here and now, not at some later time. Therefore the name for this school - Exupery - came naturally.

Dmitrijs Vinogradovs Director at EIS

Exupery International School is a young school which embraces innovation and fresh thinking. Our pupils are remarkable young people with exciting futures, and we encourage them to think for themselves and to develop a spirit of independence that will enable them to thrive in a rapidly changing world. While educating young people is a great responsibility that we take very seriously, our school is also a place of happiness, fun and discovery – a place where open-minded, confident and well-rounded young pupils are formed.

Our community provides an environment that inspires our pupils making them ready for the challenges of tomorrow. Our teaching philosophy promotes the growth of the whole pupil, as each pupil progresses through the school they are encouraged to tailor their studies to suit their talents and ambitions. The opportunities to develop beyond the classroom provide some of the most memorable experiences that belonging to our community can bring. We foster critical thinking, an intrinsic love of learning and a fundamental belief in the worth of each individual. These elements are key to our mission of developing, resilient individuals that can flourish within the ever-changing Global Community.

Our vision

From the moment a pupil joins the EIS community, they begin their journey to what’s next. Our integrated programme of study cultivated our childrens unique passions and inherent strengths and guides them to succeed academically in school and beyond. Most important, EIS fosters the self awareness and ambition to choose a school where they will dare to lead, thrive, and be themselves. We are a school that prides itself on its ability to prepare children for the demands of a Global Society. Central to our approach is to consider the whole child and to prepare them for life. Whilst there is an emphasis on academic challenge, curiosity and passion for learning there is also great emphasis placed on relationships and self-awareness. Excellent pastoral care and nurturing individuals in our diverse community underpins all that we do. We are committed to developing boys and girls ensuring they are ready for the modern world; equipping them with self-confidence, personal responsibility and resilience so that they can have fulfilling lives and have a positive impact on the lives of others. Every care is taken to address each pupil as an individual at EIS. Whether a pupil is academically gifted, a sports star, a champion chess player, has a mild learning difficulty or a physical disability, they are provided with challenge to ensure they step outside of their comfort zone and are stretched to exceed their potential.

Most importantly at this young age, EIS is a nurturing, caring community to welcome your children.

Preschool Play In the preschool at EIS, play-based learning is at the heart of our curriculum. Play is important for social, emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of children. From birth, children learn through playful interactions with people and their environment. Play is an essential aspect of a child’s healthy development through which fundamental knowledge and skills are developed. The development of these skills support children of all ages to become learners who know how to ask good questions, set effective goals and pursue their aspirations with the determination to achieve them.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Age 5 – 10

Our Primary School offers each child a rigorous and innovative learning experience relevant to the challenges of our changing world. A large focus is on becoming self-directed, resilient, life-long learners. Inquiry-based learning is the core approach taken in the Primary School in order to develop motivated, self-directed learners. This is fundamental to the IB’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) and it provides the intellectual foundation for success throughout students’ school career. Inquiry-based learning is the pathway to future study, to University and to the working world.

From Preschool to Year Six (P6) in the Primary, pupils follow the Primary Years Programme (PYP), which is the official curriculum framework and teaching methodology of the International Baccalaureate (IB). It is an international programme of education designed to foster the development of the whole child, by teaching and learning across multiple academic subjects. It emphasises learning through active inquiry and aims to develop internationally minded pupils.
