Bog walk in Great Ķemeri Bog Adress: Lielā Ķemeru tīreļa laipa, Slampes pagasts, LV-3133

The nature trail of the Great Ķemeri Bog was laid in 2000 and has a length of 3.7 km. While taking a Boardwalk you will see an amazing nature of the bogs - undersized pines and birch trees, mini-lakes and mosses of all kinds and colors. In the fall you may also spot wild cranberries on the sides of the walk. An observation platform located on the boardwalk will allow you to take a look at at the landscape of bogs from the above.

Sloka Lake and walking trail Address: Unnamed Road, LV-2012

The nature trail of Lake Slokas is only an hour's drive from Riga and about 30 minutes from Jurmala. This is a great place to watch birds - swans, ducks, storks - there are so many of them that it is easy to look at. The birds swim close, close to the observation deck and seem to want to show off in front of you. Having stopped for 5 minutes, you want to look at the beauty of the lake and its inhabitants for an endlessly long time. The best view of Lake Sloka can be seen from the floating bird watching tower. If you like hiking, there are also walking trails for about 3 km long.

Ogre Zilie Kalni Nature Park and Dubkalni quarry

There are walking trails and cycling trails in the park. A splendid view opens from the 30-meter-high observation tower on the highest of the hills. When taking one of the trails, it will bring you to the Dubkalni quarry. Water in Dubkalni quarry is clear and transparent. Depending on which time of the day it is and the direction of the rays of the sun, the water in the quarry will look from dark green to deep blue. There are a few hiking trails surrounding the place and several picnic areas with benches, tables and fire pits.

The Erglu Cliffs - one of the most continuous sandstone walls in the Baltics some 700 meters long and up to 22 meters high. The cliffs are located in the Gauja National park and are situated about 7 kilometers from the center of Cesis town. There is a natural trail taking you from the parking lot to the side of the Gauja river. To see the cliffs, you will need to walk down to the river bank. At the bottom of the cliffs lies a very nice and cozy white sand beach, which offers an impressive view to the cliffs. If you take a trial above the cliffs, it will give you beautiful view of the Gauja river.

Līgatne Nature Trails are a well-established network of trails in the traditional forest landscape of Gauja National Park, where everyone can observe and get to know wild animals of Latvia in conditions almost identical to their natural habitat. Forest animals found on the Līgatne nature trails are brought from different places in Latvia. The area where the animals live at the Līgatne park is huge and sometimes it’s difficult to spot them, but when you see a deer or a pair of boars, sleeping just a dozen metres away from you – this gives you an unforgettable impression of the place.
