There are plenty of different ways for visitors to play when they choose Western Mass. So much so, that you’ll need to spend a few days to truly immerse yourself in the many ways to have fun and make new memories in this unique region. MGM Springfield is the ultimate adult playground. Try your luck in the casino where you’ll find slots, roulette, blackjack and more. Take a walk through the South End Market for some gelato or a lobster roll. Looking to sit back and enjoy a leisurely meal? TAP Sports Bar and Chandler Steakhouse are great options! Hop on the Western Mass Beer Trail for a day or evening full of fun. Each of the breweries featured is special in its own way and they all have plenty of snacks to go along with their brews. Many are now scheduling entertainment on weekends, so check out our Trail and make a plan.

Springfield Museums is home to five world-class museums, including the Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, all under a single admission. There’s always a new exhibit to visit too! The Basketball Hall of Fame is the world’s one and only shrine to the sport which was discovered right here in Springfield. The Hall has recently completed a $20 million renovation and features state-of-the-art exhibits as well as a new exhibit dedicated to the late basketball legend, Kobe Bryant. Eric Carle (1929–2021) was one of the best-known illustrators of our time. The creator of more than 70 picture books, he combined whimsical stories and exuberant collages that appeal to young readers and adults alike. In 2002, Eric Carle and his wife, Barbara Carle, founded The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst in the middle of an apple orchard.
