Wonderful underground Christmas adventure New for 2015 – a brand new magical Clearwell Caves Christmas fantasy. It’s a charming story about a little girl and her toy aeroplane and the adventures they get up to during Christmas - come and see the delightful story unfold. From Saturday 28 November until Christmas Eve, Children can visit Santa in his real underground grotto, choose a present, then follow delightful displays telling the enchanting story of ‘Evie’s Aeroplane’ created through nine impressive caverns. The displays are the creation of children’s book illustrator Heather Holland, who has worked with Clearwell Caves staff to create spectacular festive displays over a number of years. As the Santa cruise gets underway the adults can sit back, relax and watch the proceedings as they enjoy a mince pie and a hot drink. Cold drinks and biscuits are provided for the children. As children peer excitedly out of the windows to catch a glimpse of Father Christmas, the big man himself appears with the help of a spot of festive magic in his onboard Grotto. All the children are called up one-by-one to meet Santa and to receive their special gift. It’s the ideal opportunity for children to give their Christmas list to Santa personally. The one hour cruises depart from Gloucester Docks at 12 noon, 1.30pm and 3pm and travels along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal. Take in the local scenery and enjoy the festive fun.
