SANTA POLA Town Hall, through its Department of Festivals, is taking an important step toward greater inclusion by creating a designated area for neurodivergent people during both the Santa Claus parade on December 24 and the Three Kings’ Parade on January 5. The dedicated zone, known as a ‘blue space’, will feature reduced sound levels, offering a calmer, safer and more comfortable environment for residents with special needs so they can fully enjoy the celebrations. The blue space will be located near the El Palmeral auditorium, at the beginning of the parade route along Calle Elche. In this area, the volume of parade music will be significantly lowered, helping to minimise sensory overload while maintaining the festive atmosphere. Families interested in using the space can reserve it free of charge at the Cultural Centre. With this initiative, the Department of Festivals is ensuring that everyone in Santa Pola can take part in these events.

Multicultural choirs bring festive spirit to Torrevieja’s annual Christmas concert.

TORREVIEJA once again lit up the holiday season with the 23rd edition of Carols in the Square. The beloved international Christmas carol concert drew hundreds of residents and visitors from across the country to Plaza de la Constitución, which, as always, was bustling with festive cheer and a little too small for all who wanted to attend. Since its debut in 2002, the concert has been organised by the Department of International Residents and has grown into one of Torrevieja’s most anticipated Christ-

mas events, even in a municipality already known for its lively atmosphere year-round. This year’s event was hosted by local artist Shani Ormiston, who also performed some of her own songs. The edition featured new choral groups from several countries, showcasing the multicultural spirit of Torrevieja. Nations represented included Poland, the UK, Romania, Sweden, Norway, and Ukraine, creating a truly international celebration of song. In keeping with tradition, Nueva Fraternidad,

a local non-profit organisation, offered mulled wine, adding a warm and festive touch to the winter gathering. Carols in the Square once again highlighted Torrevieja’s inclusive and joyous spirit, solidifying its reputation as one of the Costa Blanca South’s premier winter holiday destinations.
