Why exercise in the water? Water allows people to do exercises that are difficult on land. Up to 90% of your body is buoyant when in water up to your neck, so you are not hitting the floor as hard as you would on land. The water also continuously cools the body, so exercise in the water is cooler and more comfortable than it is on land. Accessible Swimming: The Town of Essex is committed to providing high quality customer service to all of our valued customers.
