Learn to Skate
The skating program includes six levels of progression beginning with developing fundamental movement skills and physical literacy. It guides children in their skill development to become competent and confident with their athletic and physical abilities. CSA approved helmets are required for all skating programs.

Parent and Tot Learn to Skate Parent and Tot Learn to Skate is designed to introduce new skaters to the fundamental skating skills with the assistance of a parent. Instructors lead parents and children through various games and activities to make the children reach a comfort level on the ice.

Hockey Skills and Drills Children will be taught the fundamental skating skills necessary to complement their game playing skills. Children will be taught proper technique to develop maximum speed, balance and agility. Each exercise will be learned correctly - which means slowly at first and then increasing speed as proper technique is achieved. No hockey gear will be needed. Canadian Tire believes that all kids should have the chance to run, skate, play and grow. That’s why we created Canadian Tire Jumpstart™; a community-based charitable program from the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families that helps kids in need participate in organized sports and recreational activities like hockey, soccer and swimming.
