Outcome

This project is built around a “spiral in contrast” that begins small on the first level and gets larger as it rises to the second. The facade design has been curved to resemble the largest part of the spiral that extends from the building’s second story. Users will be welcomed by a huge curving glass wall as they interact with activities located throughout the building and guide them to the second story. The building’s historic brick infill and cast iron column structure are starkly contrasted with the facade design, which represents the users’ previous lives and their new lives after joining the centre.
