SILENT AUCTION
The Elizabethtown Flower Club will meet at noon on Monday, Dec. 3, at The Gathering Place, 6 Pine St., Mount Joy. Members are asked to bring plants, baked goods or seasonal decorations for the silent auction. Guests are welcome to attend. Reservations and cancellations must be made by noon on Thursday, Nov. 29, by calling Mary Ann Kale at 717-653-9183 to avoid payment for a reserved meal. A cost for the lunch has been set. Market St., will host a Lace Cottage meeting on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month, with attendees meeting informally for tatting instruction, to work on projects and to share ideas. Christmas At Star Barn Village To Support Brittany’s Hope By Chelsea Peifer
Christmas at the Star Barn Village at Stone Gables Estate, 1 Hollinger Lane, Elizabethtown, is an event brimming with fun and festive family activities, but one of the best parts may be that those who attend can find joy in knowing that they are taking part in something that will benefit orphaned children around the world. Proceeds from the event, which is set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 1, will benefit Brittany’s Hope. Wagon rides complete with hot cocoa, opportunities to have photographs taken with Santa Claus, a petting zoo, a campfire with s’mores, pony rides, cookie decorating, and a chance to visit the freshly restored and relocated Star Barn and its outbuildings will all be included with
general admission to the event, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An additional option to purchase VIP admission is also available and will allow folks to take part in all of the general admission activities along with a special breakfast with Santa Claus in the Star Barn from 8 to 10 a.m. Gifts from Santa will also be included with VIP admission. To purchase general admission or VIP tickets, interested individuals may visit www.brittanyshope.org/ christmas/. A limited number of VIP tickets are available, so organizers encourage interested individuals to register while supplies last. Food and beverages will be available to purchase throughout the day for an additional cost, along with tickets to enter to win various giveaways. See Brittany s Hope pg 5

1 Alpha Drive, is hosting “Women and the Great War: Posters From the Collection of Pamela Tronsor” in Hess Gallery in Zug Memorial Hall through Saturday, Dec. 1. This collection of propaganda posters from World War I includes American posters focusing on women as icons of and workers for the war effort as depicted by leading graphic artists of the time.
