Encinitas Junior Lifeguards (ages 9 -17)
Be a part of a 20-year plus Encinitas tradition. By combining education with recreation, participants learn about the ocean environment, gain professional lifesaving skills, and enjoy swimming, bodyboarding, bodysurfing, and competitions. PM Sessions
Uniforms: All participants will receive a red JG shirt on the first day of the session. Boys are required to wear navy blue swim trunks and girls are required to wear a navy blue swimsuit. Required uniforms may be purchased at the swim test location, or on the first day of the session, or you’re welcome to find your own navy blue suit. All attire must be athletic in nature and not revealing. Original Watermen suits costs approximately $30-40 and rash guards costs approximately $27-29. Swim Test: Returning Encinitas Junior Lifeguard participants do not need to retake the swim test. Pool access and availability is limited due to COVID-19 staffing, so we are requiring a non-refundable $10.00 registration fee for all swim tests. Swim test dates TBD. Junior Lifeguards Aide (ages 15 -17)
If you are interested in becoming a Junior Lifeguard Aide, you must be between the ages of 15 and 17 and have prior experience in the Junior Lifeguard Program for at least one year. Visit the JG Aide page on the Junior Guards website for more information.
