YOUTH / TEEN

Uniforms: All participants will receive a red JG shirt on the fi rst day of the session. Boys are required to wear navy blue swim trunks and girls are required to wear a navy blue swimsuit. Required uniforms may be purchased at the swim test location, or on the fi rst day of the session, or you’re welcome to fi nd your own navy blue suit. All attire must be athletic in nature and not revealing. Original Watermen suits costs approximately $30-40 and rash guards costs approximately $27-29.

Swim Test: Returning Encinitas Junior Lifeguard participants do not need to retake the swim test. Pool access and availability is limited due to COVID-19 staffi ng, so we are requiring a non-refundable $10.00 registration fee for all swim tests. Swim test dates TBD.

If you are interested in becoming a Junior Lifeguard Aide, you must be between the ages of 15 and 17 and have prior experience in the Junior Lifeguard Program for at least one year. Visit the JG Aide page on the Junior Guards website for more information.

Join in on the fun this summer in this non-competitive beach program, focused on learning and fun. Participants are taught beach safety and awareness, basic first aid, marine life awareness, water etiquette, teamwork and engage in plenty of play! Come join us for a great camp experience at Seaside day camp! You will have a blast with your friends participating in engaging art, science, dance, sports, and playful activities that will deliver an innovating-igniting experience you will love! Camps will comply with all California Department of Health guidelines to ensure camper safety. Daily snack provided. Campers should pack a peanut free lunch each day. Our Seaside staff are looking forward to seeing you!

Each weekly package includes: Monday to Friday program core activities from 9am to 3pm with additional extended care options:

Breakfast does not look the same in every country! In Morocco, people eat falafel for breakfast; in Argentina, people eat breakfast tostadas; in Bangladesh, people eat egg and potato curry; in eastern Africa, it's common for people to eat mahamari, soft, triangular doughnuts made with coconut milk and ground cardamom. Child and Babysitter Safety (ages 11 - 16)

Babysitting Safety Class is a community education program designed to teach youths, age 11 and older, basic care techniques and child safety for infants and children. This class is a hands-on program where the participants can practice infant care skills on dolls and manikins, as well as other babysitter activities! Participants receive a Babysitter booklet and certifi cate and CPR for infant/child participation certifi cate.

Chess Wizards Camp (ages 6 - 12)

Chess Wizards has been teaching the game of chess since 2002. Join us this Summer for tons of challenging chess lessons, exciting games, and cool prizes. You'll improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain! Our camps include fun team chess games (like Corner Chess), recess time (of course), snacks, tournaments, and puzzles. Each camper receives a T-shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder. Mad Science – Red Hot Robots Spring Break Camp (ages 5 - 13)

Join Mad Science for an introduction to robots! Throughout the week, campers will become robot engineers as they build a unique motorized robot that transforms into four unique creatures, each increasing in difficulty. Discover the inner workings of robots by experimenting with circuits, gears, sensors, and power supplies. Learn about robot programming and the diff erent tasks robots perform in our world. Experiment with sound sensing, line tracking, and solar-powered robots.

This summer put your hardhat on and step into the shoes of an engineer with Mad Science! Campers spend the week learning about aerospace, mechanical, automotive, structural, and nautical engineering. Through hands-on construction projects using LEGO® bricks, teams of campers will complete engineering projects of varying diffi culty levels. They will learn about aerospace engineering while assembling a space station, explore mechanical engineering while building boats and vehicles, and discover nature's engineering secrets while investigating bio mimicry.
