Walk-in registration is accepted during business hours at the Encinitas Community & Senior Center, City Hall at the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department, and Pacific View Arts Center.

The cost of each course in this guide is listed in the details with the course description. Please account for any applicable fees listed below. Credit Card Transaction fees will be charged @ 3.66%.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS

Activities are subject to change. A full refund will be given if the City cancels the activity.

Refund requests submitted in writing to prca@encinitasca.gov at least seven (7) calendar days before the first program meeting date may be granted minus a $20 cancellation fee, $10 for senior programs. Registration processing and credit card transaction fees are non-refundable.

Park hours are dawn to dusk except for permitted events or unless stated otherwise. Beach parking and amenities hours are 5am - 10pm. Beach is closed 2am - 4am. No glass containers or polystyrene food containers allowed at City parks, beaches and trails. All parks are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Special Event and Facility Use Permits are available for select locations. COMMUNITY CYCLING BIKE/E - BIKE SAFETY & SKILLS CLASS

Under the direction of a League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructor, you will learn the rules of the road and practice essential bike riding skills. Learn where to ride, best practices, emergency maneuvers, and legal rights and responsibilities. The three-hour class is broken up into three parts: lecture, skills drills, and a guided road ride to put your new skills into action! Class content applies to both regular and e-bikes.

Encinitas residents will receive a refund of registration amount after completion of the course ($2.90 ActiveNet system processing fee is nonrefundable). If under 16, parent registration and participation is strongly encouraged. For participants 12 and under, parent registration and

Young artists will spend a week exploring their creative side through a variety of art projects such as drawing, painting, sculpting, mixed media, printmaking, fiber arts and more based on different themes each week. A walk to Moonlight Beach Park for lunch will provide a chance to eat, play, and hang with friends. Campers in weeks 1-7 will have their artwork exhibited in the Summer Student Art Show at Art Night on Saturday, August 2.

Little Groms Surf Camp (ages 5-8)

Little Groms is dedicated to our next generation of water kids who are ready to learn about the ocean and its constantly changing conditions so they can be safe and have the most fun. We have daily lessons in ocean safety, introduction to surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing and swimming in the ocean. We teach them about rip currents, tides, swells, stingrays, and other factors that can impact a day at the beach. We allow all kids to progress at their own pace in this camp, not pushing them past their comfort level. Big Groms Surf Camp (ages 9-16)

This surf camp teaches proper surfing fundamentals and techniques with an emphasis on skill development and ocean safety. Surf camp is ideal for BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE level participants that want to become more efficient surfers. Experienced staff will work with campers individually and in small groups to create a fun and productive environment. Surfboards are provided.

This summer put your hard-hat on and step into the shoes of an engineer with Mad Science! Spend the week learning about aerospace, mechanical, automotive, structural and nautical engineering. Through hands on construction projects using LEGO® bricks, teams of campers will complete engineering projects of varying difficulty levels. Campers will assemble a space station, build boats and vehicles, and investigate biomimicry. Let the tinkering begin!

Mad Science – Crazy Chemistry (ages 6-11)

Shake up a flask of fun in the lab and become a junior chemist! Learn to recognize chemical reactions and mix up a few reactive ingredients for some sensational results. Check out the colors of chemistry with the power of pH paper and create a stopperpopping reaction. Probe the properties of light and discover some unusual applications of glow-in-the-dark technology. Campers have a blast as they make some crazy concoctions.

Roblox Studio – Programming and Gaming Development (ages 6-17)

Calling all ROBLOX users! Join in with millions of gamers and immerse yourself in your own 3D world! Youth Basketball Shot Reps –Advanced Shooting & Skills Camp (ages 10-14)

Receive next level training and an intense and fun workout that will focus on your shooting and cognitive response skills. Incorporated into the SHOT REPS camp is some of the latest technology that NBA teams and players like Steph Curry are using, including the Dr. Dish shooting machines and the Fitlight Trainer! The SHOT REPS program improves your overall game through efficient, quality reps. The camp is broken into approximately 2.5 hours of skill training and 1.5 hours of competitive games and scrimmages for an intense and productive workout. Sugar Boxing youth camps are designed to build confidence, strength, sportsmanship, and accountability. Students learn all the fundamentals of a real boxer in a safe, fun environment. The Oakcrest Cafe offers daily nutritious lunches in a welcoming environment. Reservations are required and can be made up until 12pm the business day before you would like a meal by calling (760) 943-2258. The suggested meal contribution is $5 per meal for adults 60+ and a mandatory $8 fee per meal for those under 60. Please make checks payable to the City of Encinitas.

Check-in time for lunch is 11:00-11:30am. Lunch is served at 11:40am. The Oakcrest Cafe is supported by the City of Encinitas and general meal donations.
