A CELESTIAL BEING HOLDING THE WAIT OF WORLD ON HER SHOULDERS. A GODDESS AMONG MEN.

ARTIST STATMENT This capsule collection stems from the phrase, "god is a women.' It focuses on portraying women as celestial goddesses that have the power to move around the universe to their own design. The message being that, this is a woman's world and we are just living in it, at her every whim because she bears the weight of our world.

Aesthetically the piece is inspired by powerful organic motifs found in nature such as, water, space and planets. Women can be seen holding and moving planets as the are all weaved and intertwined together by a dark force. This signifies unity and strength but at the same time conveys the idea of being trapped and having to carry the universe for eternity.

IDEATION & SKETCHING 4

DESIGN PROCESS The piece, designed as a necklace has a classic 'V' shaped silhouette on both the front and the back. It was designed so it could be worn facing either direction. In the ideation process the design evolved to include additional links at the shoulders and extension pieces to allow of the piece to separate into two necklaces rather than one. Incorporated hidden links that seamlessly fit into the design were methodically thought through during the sketching process. Subtle kinetic elements through out the piece were consider ed in the design as well.

Large pendants and casted links treated selectively with black patina (liver of sulfur) to add depeth and contrast

STERLING SILVER WIRE Clasps and small links for connecting larger pendants.

Wire constuction techniques to weave into pendants.

Closed with puls arc welder.

GLASS BEADS Iridescent/ crackle glass beads to add color and symbolize planets. Function as moveable links and spinning for a kinetic element in pendants and earring sets.

STERLING SLIVER CHAIN Small link silver chain with clasp on ethier end that functions as an extention piece. Allows the necklace to seperate into two pieces and be worn separately.
