Artist Statement

This set of earring is inspired by Helen of Troy, The most beautiful women in Greece who sparked the Trojan war. She spent most of her life as a prisoner being fought over by men. I associated her with the dove because of its purity and beauty. But the birds are also free. They can leave and fly over the war.

I imagine that Helen is friends with the birds, and uses them as a sense of comfort.

Aesthetically the piece is inspired metal Grecian halos that are gold. they usually feature flowers and leaves.

DESIGN PROCESS the design is heavily inspired by Grecian Jewelry influences. I made an adapted version of a headpiece to the are. Analytical designs were drawn up plan how to make the flowerettes. For material are utilized to mix metals for more variety in color and add it on seedbeds after the fact
