TROPIC FIXES In our hectic lives it can be hard to embrace nature and catch site of its beauty. Days full of urbanization feel like a big cloud over our heads and we wish for the sun to arise and brighten everything. Be inspired by what your eyes capture when you travel amongst palm vines and white sandy bays, glistening under the rays of summer heat. Or you can simply follow these tips to add a glow into cloudy routines.

From right clockwise1) Listen to Lana Del Rey Honeymoon album whilst cosy in your personal space. 2) Stare longingly at any view, anywhere that makes you smile effortlessly. 3) Make a DIY body scrub to feel super revived using Coconut oil, Granulated sugar, Freeze dried strawberries, Food colouring and strawberry flavouring. 4) Spritz yourself with a scent that sings summer. Try Pacifica, Mediterranean fig for a fresh and fruity uplift (It’s also vegan and cruelty free! :) ). 5) Drink a tropical smoothie of your choice, preferably on the beach but your bed will also do the trick. Go bahama mama and decorate with fruit on the side to really feel the tropic vibe.

Wellbeing brand Beefayre was born in the foothills of Transylvania, Romania when Sharon Jervis, artist and nature lover went to meet beekeepers and study their ancient tradition of bee keeping. There she discovered a pristine environment, free from pesticides and intensive farming practices with thriving glades of healthy bees and the purest honey, pollen and propolis. From using their products and learning more about the healing properties of these wonders of the hive, Sharon and her son Sam developed a range of health and body care products. Beefayre wellbeing products are handmade in England and use the very highest quality natural ingredients, free of any petroleum by-products. Sharon's drawings create the original design and packaging for Beefayre products and are inspired by the honeybee and its natural habitat. Beefayre donate 3% profits to bee conservation and research. We rely on bees to pollinate most of our crops and with their habitat and health under considerable threat they also need our protection.

Bees act as a barometer of the health of our planet. Protect them and we protect our future. 14

Take a min & colour in Sometimes we just need to simply put our mind at rest and let our innocence takeover. Give yourself a few moments to colour in, or out of the lines of nature, leave it down to your imagination. By colouring in these Beefayre hand drawn images, you are being aware of the insects and bees that help keep us existing.

You will feel great too! So go on..

I

love to dress up. I’m quite experimental with my style; I guess I use it to cover up my anxieties. Sometimes I will wear an eye catcher like this purple fur jacket but then sometimes I like to blend in so I will opt for a chilled pair of dungarees. Whatever I wear though I always add my personal touch to it like ripped tights or messy hair. I don’t know if it is considered as trendy, but it expresses my personality of not being perfect and I like that, because it’s real, it’s who I am, and being who I am keeps my moods pretty balanced instead of pining after someone else to look like, I just celebrate well, me.

S

ometimes I feel so drained. I don’t know how to feel, or if what I am feeling is right. I look at my phone and there are no messages and it makes me feel shit. Sometimes I don’t get many likes on my pictures and I feel ugly. Yes there are plenty of worse things going on in the world from ISIS to global warming but these insecurities build up in my head and if I let them, they control me. That is why sometimes you just need to get out. Get out the house, get off your phone and escape the repetitive bullshit we face everyday. I know that when I do that and embrace myself with my passions like music and nature I feel like a new me, a better me that can cope with built up stress and the complications of being human.

I love being active. I’m a cheerleader, a dancer, a swimmer and a big walker. I think if I didn’t keep active I would probably dwell on my life more. I just feel strongly about positive distractions. It is these things that helped me discover who I really am and what I enjoy in life. I think we all deserve to find that, to stand out from the crowd with our personal feelings and interests.

32

“Stand out from the crowd with our personal feelings and interests.”

Music drowns out the noises in my head, the sounds of thoughts bringing me down. I’ve recently been listening to the Indie band Mt. Wolf a lot. The vibe they give makes me step almost into a dream world; a world where I feel stronger and less bothered about what’s wrong with the world and me. I think choosing a genre of music and surrounding yourself with it daily can be a key way to boost your moods and stay strong. It works for me anyway so I recommend it. 33

Your mind, your soul, your space. You own it all. We shouldn’t let materialistic objects define who we are, however they can be great to boost our happy levels, especially in our home environments.

EMPTY THAT MIND

Shades of green and yellow work beautifully against white and neutral backdrops and boost our creativity levels. A direct connection to nature and a spiritual ambience. Splash these colours around your personal space and you will create your own meaningful retreat.

We all have it, a bucket list of aspirations and places we long to see. Search any of those places in Google and images instantly appear in front of our eyes. We see on the screen everything we want to see but we feel nothing. The Internet doesn’t heighten our senses or supply rush of new airs and foreign touches. In order to seek this we must escape our comfort zones of being in front of a screen and literally feel what the world has to offer. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy to achieve and nothing in our routines electrify our feelings. Feel inspired by the next few pages, run your fingers across beams of sun, foreign notions and cultured colours. It will supply you with a physical taster of what the world can offer.
