Kintsukuroi

KINTSUKUROI

The end of the 15th century saw the birth of Kintsukuroi art of repairing broken ceramics using a lacquer with powdered gold that highlights the seams.

In time, this technique acquired so much prestige that people were accused of breaking their objects on purpose.

When I read about Kintsukuroi I thought of you I saw you on skates falling on your back and breaking your coccyx.

I thought of your phobias and of the dental protheses your mother orders for her clients.

I thought of the moss and spider webs that form in the vicinity of nuclear reactors like fragile and elastic curved theorems with the stubborn beauty of your burnt little ears.
