of the Blue Mountain Early Life Speech and Language Clinic (ELSL), which opened on March 20. The new clinic is housed in the Masonic Center in Walla Walla and is sponsored by the Scottish Rite Masons of the Walla Walla Valley. ELSL provides treatment to children ages 2 to 7 who have speech and language delays. Without treatment children with speech and language delays are at a definite disadvantage and have trouble making progress in school. They often are handicapped throughout their life. Effective communication is a necessary component of success in life. This is the third speech and language clinic established in Washington by Scottish fundraiser for upcoming projects. In addition to receiving a portion of the dinner receipts, members passed the hat for the Rainbow Assembly raising a combined total in excess of over $700. Attendees were treated to a program on civility by Most Worshipful Sam Roberts and then words were shared by Illustrious Sir Tom Richardson. Ill Sir Doug Morgan, P.P., shared information with CBSC members about the upcoming Spring Ceremonial and encouraged attendance to welcome our new members.

Rite Masons. In addition to the three clinics, there are eight locations in the state that have ELSL Programs in which the Scottish Rite Valley contracts with a local SLP for treatment of children in that community. Alice talked about the new clinic, reporting that she is currently treating two children and had received several contacts from parents with children that need to be screened for possible treatment. Noble Doug Warnock talked about the Grand Opening of the Blue Mt. Clinic, which will be on Thursday, April 27 at 5:30 pm. People from throughout the community and area are invited to come in, see the clinic and learn more about it. Hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks and wine will

be served. Noble President Gerald reminded Nobles and Ladies of the official visit by Illustrious Tom Richardson, Potentate of El Katif, and his Divan to our club on May 19. The Waitsburg Celebration Days Parade will be on May 20, and the Potentate and his Divan will stay over and join us as we ride in the Waitsburg parade that Saturday morning. Blue Mt. Shrine will have eight motorcyclists, our calliope and several classic cars in the parade. Our next scheduled meeting is on May 19. This is one week later than usual so that the Waitsburg Parade can be a part of the Potentate’s visit.

We are sorry to say that Nobles sometimes pass away without our acknowledgement. As they are Brothers, they are due the recognition of their passing. Please assist in notifying the Temple when a Noble expires. Phone 509-624-2762 or email OfficeAdmin@elkatif.org 7
