English with Games and Activities 3 is aimed at learners of varying age groups, who are learning English as a foreign language and are at level B1-B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The activities in the book are based on a functional communicative approach, which helps learners to gradually acquire new vocabulary. There are 14 themed units introducing everyday vocabulary, followed by practice activities which can be done using the book or in digital format.
Each unit opens with the presentation of about 20 words. Pictures and audio recordings are used to facilitate comprehension and language acquisition. The words are then contextualised in a dialogue and practised in the following pages through graded games and activities, such as crosswords, word searches, anagrams and matching exercises. At the end of each unit there is a gap fill activity based on an audio recording, as well as a lexical map. Both these activities allow learners to gauge how much new vocabulary they have learned. The unit ends with a free production writing activity.
The appendix contains transcriptions and solutions to all the activities, so learners can check their answers autonomously. This means that it is ideal for self-learning.
The book is part of the English with Games and Activities series. There are 3 levels based on the CEFR: A1-A2, A2-B1, B1-B2.

Mr Grand: Good morning, I’m here for the audition!
Assistant: Good morning, Mr Grand. Which part would you like to audition for?
Mr Grand: That’s obvious, for the leading role! Assistant: The lead? Are you joking?
Mr Grand: No, of course not! Actually, I think I have the perfect physique for the part! Look at the way I stand with my chest out and look at my high forehead I have the posture of a film star!
Assistant: I don’t doubt that… I can see that you have been working out to build up your thigh and calf muscles, but…
Mr Grand: Look at the shape of my chin and how I raise my eyebrows Assistant: Great, yes, but…
Mr Grand: I also put some powder on my cheeks and mascara on my eyelashes! Assistant: Of course, actors can’t act without a bit of makeup… but I don’t think that you’re the right person for this part!
Mr Grand: It’s because my wrists are too big, isn’t it? Assistant: No, your wrists have got nothing to do with it… listen…
Mr Grand: Then it must be my big ankles or my thin lips. Assistant: No, it’s nothing like that.
Mr Grand: Well, what’s the reason? This morning I shaved off my beard and moustache, so that I would look my best. Assistant: That’s exactly the problem, Mr Grand! The protagonist of this film is a woman!
