Several new motor lines to be on display

WorldWide Electric Corp. of Rochester, N.Y., sees the EASA Convention as an opportunity to meet with longstanding business partners face-to-face and to make new friends and business acquaintances. The company’s booth (1003) will house mostly new product launches, like WorldWide’s most recent IEC motor release and its TEFC/TENV stainless-steel motor. The company’s gearing product portfolio brings with it new power lock bushing options to its existing K-series helical bevel gears. “And yes,” WorldWide says, “there will be a Louis Allis Specialty motor on display as well!”

WorldWide Electric continues to expand both its company and its product portfolios. The “WorldWide family of brands” now encompasses Athlon generators, Georator frequency conversion products, Gleason-Avery gear motors, and Louis Allis specialty motors. At this year’s show, the company will again highlight its new singleand double-bearing generators from Athlon, a new TEFC motor line rated up to 500 hp and nameplated under the Louis Allis brand, plus a line-up of controls, including both soft-starts and variable-frequency drives.

New to the company is Dan Read, vice president of business development at Louis-Allis. Dan joined Louis Allis this past January, coming from ABB, where he recently served as national OEM business development manager for motion. Visitors are invited to stop by and meet him, to let him know what their special motor needs are, or simply to meet any of the many WorldWide Electric employees.

“At WorldWide Electric, our vision is to be the most responsive supplier providing electromechanical solutions, and our mission is to provide a great customer experience by delivering industry leading products and solutions with a focus on service and a shared sense of urgency,” the company says. “We will see you on the show floor!”

Expanded tape manufacturing and catalog

Pittsburgh Electrical Insulation of Munhall, Pa., will be exhibiting at EASA in Booth 1109. Two years ago PEI significantly expanded operations with the acquisition of Fibertek’s Electrical Products division. The acquisition expanded PEI’s existing inhouse manufacturing of banding tapes, banding films, edging tapes, armor tapes, and b-stage surge rope lines. PEI also added to its manufacturing catalog a new line of UL-certified, standard and high-temperature (Class H), solvent-free DMD flexible laminates and wedges. The company plans to bring samples of all of these product lines to the show for comparison.

Laser-cut laminations and cores

Superior Services of Hanceville, Ala., plans to showcase its various products and services, which include laser-cut electric motor and generator laminations and cores. The company stocks a wide range of electrical steel, mild steel, and aluminum. Principal products include stators, rotors, armatures, pole pieces, and transformer laminations. Attendees are invited to visit the company at Booth 129 on Sunday, June 26, for a chance to win a $100 gift card. “One business card gives you three chances to win,” Superior Services says, adding, “Visit our booth again on Monday for a chance to win a Yeti Tundra Haul Hard Cooler.”

Insulation and a table taping machine

NipponRika, a manufacturer of high-quality insulation materials, along with its subsidiaries NRVI (coil/bar forming equipment), MicaMation (coil/bar taping machines and heat presses), and NipponRika Bartech Machinery (coil/bar taping machines using robot technology), is looking forward to exhibiting at EASA 2022. The company’s representatives are inviting everyone to join them at Booth 1034 as they demonstrate the company’s MicaMation MI-303XL table taping machine. The machine is used to tape coils “and would be a great addition to OEMs, coil shops, and motor repair shops,” NipponRika tells us. On hand will be team members from the company’s U.S., Mexico, and Europe locations.

Harmonic filters explained by experts

The folks at Mangoldt tell us they’re excited to offer power quality education for customers, distributors, and sales reps. The convention “will provide a great opportunity to meet the Mangoldt team and learn about power quality and our standard stock products that solve these problems,” the company promises. In addition, visitors will have the chance to ask questions and get feedback from the company’s engineers.

Mangoldt input harmonic filters are said to be capable of reducing ASD input harmonic current distortion to 5%, 8%, 12% or lower. The company’s PolyGap sine wave filters convert PWM voltage to a sine wave, and PolyGap L-C-L filters reduce PWM harmonic current and voltage associated with grid tied (active front end) PWM inverters. Mangoldt reactors and filters are designed to provide the highest level of protection against power quality problems.

“We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about our products and how they can benefit your customers,” Mangoldt says. “Our team of experts is ready to assist you in finding the right solution for your application.”
