Gran nivel en el Primer Encuentro Internacional de Clubes de Esgrima en Gibraltar
El pasado mes el Club Internacional de Esgrima “AndaluZia” participó en la competición internacional organizada por el Club de Esgrima militar Gibraltar Fencing Club. A la competición acudieron esgrimistas desde 14 años de edad tanto en categoría femenina como masculina. Pequeños y grandes tiradores acudieron a la cita en la sala de armas gibraltareña de la base militar Devils Tower Camp que contó con el calor y la ilusión de participantes y organizadores. Todos los deportistas y sus familias así como el público que acudió a la competición disfrutaron de la magnífica exhibición de estos tiradores. Para
algunos de ellos fue su primera prueba demostrando una gran competitividad y juego limpio que les hicieron acreedores de trofeos, medallas y premios conmemorativos. Los ganadores en categoría absoluta fueron P. Holder , A. Zerrada y el Coronel J. Powell y M. Maldonado, R. Vindel y A. Cooper , en categoría femenina. En categoría de menores de 15 años resultaron ganadores H. Shields, A. García y M. Wellington. Una gran actuación también de A. Castro, P. Medina, S. Cozar, S. Gavira , M. Vidal , J. Page y C. Kelly en su primera competición junto con P. Clarkson y A. Jones .
Agradecemos a todos los organizadores y en especial al maestro Paul Holder y al Coronel John Powell, fuerzas vivas del Club gibraltareño y a todos los monitores, maestros y miembros del Club Internacional de Esgrima por su entrega y buen hacer. Después de la competición se realizó la entrega de premios y medallas y se intercambiaron obsequios por ambos clubes. Great performance at I International Fencing Club Competition in Gibraltar Last month Estepona’s Club Internacional de Esgrima “AndaluZia” fencing club took part in an international competition organised by the Gibraltar’s Forces Fencing Club. The competition was open to fencers from 14 years old in both men’s and women’s categories, and was held at Devil’s Tower Camp, Gibraltar. All competitors, their families, and spectators enjoyed a magnificent display of swordsmanship from the fencers, some of whom were competing in a tournament for the first time. The winners at men’s senior level were P. Holder, A. Zerrada and Colonel J. Powell, with M. Maldonado, R. Vindel at A. Cooper triumphing in the women’s category. In the under-15s honours go to H. Shields, A. Garcia and M. Wellington. Mention for a great performance also go to A. Castro, P. Medina, S. Cozar, S. Gaviria, M. Vidal, J. Page and C. Kelly, taking part in his first competition together with P. Clarkson and A. Jones. S & P Liga de Billares Campeonato El jueves pasado, 13 de junio 2013 el S & P Liga de Billares celebró sus finales de campeonatos individuales, para la temporada 2012-2013, en Las Palmeras Beach Bar en San Luis de Sabinillas. Esta liga, organizada por Pam Pearson, está compuesta por equipos que representan a bares de San Enrique de Guadiaro al Puerto de la Duquesa y Sabinillas. Los campeonatos por equipo se celebro hace un par de semanas, con los Nitwits de Las Palmeras en primer lugar seguido por
los Night Ryders de Ryders en segundo y tercer lugar fue para los Alligators del Leisure Lounge. Los ganadores de las competiciones individuales fueron: Campeonato de Mujeres El primer lugar a Su Koster, en segundo lugar a Lesley Baran y tercero a Karen Rolf, mientras que el campeón de los hombres fue Antonio García con Brian Petty en segundo y Paul Nash fue tercero Todos los partidos del campeonato individuales fueron fuertemente impugnada.

S & P League Pool Tournament
Team: Nitwits
Last Thursday 13 June 2013 the S & P Pool League held their individual championship finals, for the 2012–2013 season, at Las Palmeras Beach Bar in San Luis de Sabinillas. This league, organised by Pam Pearson, is made up of teams representing bars from San Enrique de Guadiaro to Puerto de la Duquesa and Sabinillas. The team championships having been decided a couple of weeks earlier with The Nitwits from Las Palmeras coming in first followed
by the Knight Ryders from Ryders in second and coming in third place went to the Alligators representing the Leisure Lounge. Winners of the individual competitions were: Women’s Championship First place to Su Koster, second to Lesley Baran and third to Karen Rolf, while Men’s Champion went to Antonio Garcia with Brian Petty coming in second and Paul Nash took third Both the individual championship matches were tightly contested.
