Javier & Annalysa Gil It all began at the art walk, the perfect setting for two creative souls to come together. Javier Gil, photographer, graphic designer, and business owner. And Annalysa Gil, creator of tropical beachy crafts, jewelry designer, and all-around creative girl. They first chanced upon each other in this colorful, lively setting in the little town of Rincón.
Todo comenzó en el Art Walk, el escenario perfecto para que dos almas creativas se unieran. Javier Gil, fotógrafo, diseñador gráfico y empresario. Y Annalysa Gil, creadora de artesanías playeras tropicales, diseñadora de joyas y chica creativa en general. Se encontraron por primera vez en este colorido y animado entorno en el pequeño pueblo de Rincón.
It started with a photo shoot in 2015; Annalysa tells us: “It was our first time meeting for a photo shoot. I was nervous, but things flowed, and we had a natural creative connection. I knew we would be really good friends and creative partners”. The energy between them flowed so well that they soon began working together on other photography projects such as weddings, fashion photo shoots, and real estate.
Comenzó con una sesión de fotos en 2015; Annalysa nos cuenta: “Era la primera vez que nos reuníamos para una sesión de fotos. Estaba nerviosa, pero las cosas fluyeron y tuvimos una conexión creativa natural. Sabía que seríamos muy buenos amigos y socios creativos ”. La energía entre ellos fluyó tan bien que pronto comenzaron a trabajar juntos en otros proyectos de fotografía como bodas, sesiones de fotos de moda y bienes raíces.
In the fall of 2017, Hurricane Maria hit the island. Together they worked with various relief groups providing aid for those in need. They used Javi’s current office space in the Rincón plaza as headquarters and a shipping station for packages of relief supplies. Annalysa thought: “if we survived the Hurricane and the apocalyptic aftermath together, we can definitely survive a marriage.”
En el otoño de 2017, el huracán María azotó la isla. Juntos trabajaron con varios grupos de ayuda que brindan ayuda a los necesitados. Utilizaron la oficina actual de Javi en la plaza Rincón como sede y estación de envío para paquetes de suministros. Annalysa pensó: “si sobrevivimos juntos al huracán y las secuelas apocalípticas, definitivamente podemos sobrevivir a un matrimonio”.

The Engagement:

Both Javi and Annalysa have a love for snorkeling, diving, and the ocean. One of their all-time favorite spots is Steps Beach. Javi’s brother, Rei, is a Dive Master and often flies down to the island to go on diving trips and to see his family. One beautiful April morning in 2019, Annalysa thought it was another dive with family and loved ones. Halfway into the dive, Javi swam over to her with something in his hand. Annalysa tells us that: “I thought he was swimming over to show me something or to point something out, then as he got closer I could see he had a shell in his hand. As he got closer, there was a black pearl ring in the shell! After we got out of the water, Javi and his family had a whole picnic set up where we celebrated this amazing moment.”
Tanto Javi como Annalysa adoran el esnórquel, el buceo y el océano. Uno de sus lugares favoritos de todos los tiempos es Steps Beach. El hermano de Javi, Rei, es un Dive Master y, a menudo, vuela a la isla para hacer viajes de buceo y ver a su familia. Una hermosa mañana de abril de 2019, Annalysa pensó que era otra salida con la familia y seres queridos. En un momento, Javi nadó hacia ella con algo en la mano. Annalysa nos dice que: “Pensé que estaba nadando para mostrarme algo o para señalarme algo, luego, cuando se acercó, pude ver que tenía una concha en la mano. Luego vi que, ¡había un anillo de perla negra en la concha! Después de que salimos del agua, Javi y su familia habían organizado un picnic donde celebramos este increíble momento.”
Now the next step was to decide whether to take time to travel or host a wedding. After a bit of debating, it was settled, they were going to have a wedding. And based on the size of both families, it had to be a big one! According to Annalysa: “during the hurricane, I wished both sides had met to reassure my family I was with great people. They made me feel safe and cared for me through natural disasters. Plus, with my mom’s impeccable taste and Javi’s mom being an extraordinary wedding planner, we have no choice but to throw the wedding of a lifetime!”
Ahora, el siguiente paso fue decidir si tomarse el tiempo para viajar u organizar una boda. Después de debatir un poco, nos decidimos por la boda. Y según el tamaño de ambas familias, ¡tenía que ser grande! Según Annalysa: “durante el huracán, deseaba que ambas partes se hubieran conocido para asegurarle a mi familia que estaba con gente estupenda. Me hicieron sentir segura y me cuidaron durante desastres naturales. Además, con el gusto impecable de mi madre y la madre de Javi que es una organizadora de bodas extraordinaria, ¡no tenemos más remedio que lanzar la boda de nuestra vida! “
The first decision was important; location! They decided upon Tres Palmas Inn and Villas located at Steps Beach for various reasons. It is a magical place for them. Annalysa spends almost every day swimming, snorkeling, diving, and relaxing at Steps Beach. It’s also where they got engaged. Also, Javi is a member of the board of Amigos de Tres Palmas, an organization dedicated to conserving the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve.
La primera decisión fue importante; ¡localización! Se decidieron por Tres Palmas Inn and Villas ubicado en Steps Beach por varias razones. Primero que un lugar mágico para ellos. Annalysa pasa casi todos los días nadando, buceando, y relajándose en Steps Beach. También es donde se comprometieron. Además, Javi es miembro de la junta directiva de Amigos de Tres Palmas, una organización dedicada a la conservación de la Reserva Marina de Tres Palmas.

The Wedding:

A month before the wedding, Annalysa’s family flew down from the United States to help out and enjoy plenty of time getting to know their new family and have pre-wedding festivities! Javi’s Mom, Zulma, being a wedding planner, helped organize their pirate-themed wedding. Among the surprises she planned was placing a bag of pirate costumes under the tables. According to Annalysa, “during the wedding, I turned around for a moment, and when I looked back, my entire family was dressed as pirates with eye patches and swords! We danced and celebrated the entire night. When it was time to cut the cake, we used a real pirate sword! Javi later used it on the dance floor, almost decapitating several guests until his father stepped in.”
Un mes antes de la boda, la familia de Annalysa viajó desde los Estados Unidos para ayudar, disfrutar, tener tiempo para conocer a su nueva familia y celebrar las festividades previas a la boda. La mamá de Javi, Zulma, como organizadora de bodas, ayudó a organizar su boda con una temática pirata. Entre las sorpresas que planeó estaba colocar una bolsa de disfraces de piratas debajo de las mesas. Según Annalysa, “durante la boda, me di la vuelta por un momento, y cuando miré hacia atrás, ¡toda mi familia estaba vestida de piratas con parches en los ojos y espadas! Bailamos y celebramos toda la noche. Cuando llegó el momento de cortar el pastel, ¡usamos una verdadera espada pirata! Javi lo usó más tarde en la pista de baile, casi decapitando a varios invitados hasta que su padre intervino.”
Annalysa, being the creative soul she is, spent nine months making one of her two wedding dresses. The dress had hundreds of cowrie shells on the hem and train, which two of Javi’s nieces, Mia and Paulina, helped paint gold and hand sew.
Annalysa, siendo el alma creativa que es, pasó nueve meses haciéndole uno de sus dos vestidos de novia. El vestido tenía cientos de caracoles en el dobladillo y la cola, que dos de las sobrinas de Javi, Mia y Paulina, ayudaron a pintar oro y coser a mano.
Currently, Javi and Annalysa run and own two businesses on the Rincón plaza that showcase their talents. F. Javier Gil Gallery, a space where Javi displays and sells his prints, t-shirts, and other creations. And Oakum Collection, a boutique/studio where Annalysa creates, displays, and sells her bespoke handmade swimsuits.
Actualmente, Javi y Annalysa dirigen y poseen dos negocios en la plaza Rincón que muestran sus talentos. F. Javier Gil Gallery, un espacio donde Javi expone y vende sus estampados, camisetas y otras creaciones. Y Oakum Collection, una boutique / estudio donde Annalysa crea, exhibe y vende sus trajes de baño hechos a mano a medida.

Chelsey M. García Agrón, rincoeña y genuina representación de nuestro pueblo para el mundo.
Many of us have witnessed how she has stood out on stage since she was little, always having her parents and grandmother in the front row. Since she was approximately seven years old, she has been a participant in major fashion events in Puerto Rico and has been working for illustrious designers both locally and internationally. Her first beauty pageant was the Reinado Internacional del Café held in Colombia. There she represented Puerto Rico, remaining among the five finalists. In 2015 she walked the streets of New York, leaving her mark in the New York Fashion Week. By 2016 she showed off on the catwalks of The Dominican Republic Fashion Week. While in 2019, she participated in the Miami Fashion Week and the Summer Sizzle BVI, a fashion event in the British Virgin Islands. Recently, this year, she was the winner of the Iconic Model Search competition. And her most recent adventure, participating in Miss Mundo PR this past April 18 where she reached the top 5 and represented Rincón.
Muchos hemos sido testigos que desde pequeña ha resaltado en los escenarios, teniendo siempre en primera fila a sus padres y abuela materna. Desde aproximadamente los 7 años, ha sido partícipe en grandes eventos de moda en Puerto Rico trabajando para diseñadores ilustres del país tanto local como a nivel internacional. Su primer certamen de belleza fue el Reinado Internacional del Café celebrado en Colombia. Allí representó a Puerto Rico quedando entre las 5 finalistas. En el 2015, se paseó por las calles de Nueva York resaltando en el New York Fashion Week. Ya para el 2016, se lució en las pasarelas de Dominican Republic Fashion Week. Mientras que en el 2019, tuvo participación en el Miami Fashion Week y en el evento de modas Summer Sizzle BVI de las Islas Vírgenes Británicas. Recientemente, en este mismo año, resultó ganadora de

As a student, she has always been active in different organizations related to entrepreneurship, marketing, and social and environmental work. In addition, she volunteers at events held by non-profit organizations. As long as she can provide her help and volunteer, she is willing to do so. She intends to serve and impact the most significant number of lives. She wants to represent Puerto Rico while carrying a message of motivation and perseverance. In each contest and project that she participates in, she obtains key pieces to grow personally and professionally. Each event helps her build her confidence and development in different facets from the inside out. Her goal is to tell her story and be an example for everyone who wants to achieve their dreams. As he tells us, “it is not just to stand out on stage but also to carry a message through a purposeful beauty project.” With her initial goal of impacting lives, she makes donations of essential items and clothing. Why clothes? By being so involved in fashion due to her career as a model, she has learned how this industry brings social, environmental, and economic consequences. It is estimated to be the second most polluting industry in the world. Also, most of the production factories are located in underdeveloped countries where labor is very cheap. As a result of researching and educating herself on the subject, her project #SegundaVidaAMiArmario was born to raise awareness about this issue. Look for more on the subject at @chelseygarciapr! “I hope that the name of my island rings out in the world. May we share our strength, resilience, and union with the rest of humanity. Because despite living in difficult times, when we come together, everything is possible. I am very excited to see a world full of love, empathy, and respect. la competencia Iconic Model Search. Y su más reciente aventura, participar del Miss Mundo PR este pasado 18 de abril. Alcanzando ser parte de las top 5 y representando a Rincón en el mismo. Como estudiante, siempre ha estado activa en diferentes organizaciones relacionadas al empresarismo, mercadeo, labor social y ambiental. En adición, es voluntaria en eventos realizados por organizaciones sin fines de lucro. Siempre que puede brindar su ayuda y servir de voluntaria, está dispuesta a hacerlo. Su intención es servir e impactar la mayor cantidad de vidas. Representar a Puerto Rico mientras lleva un mensaje de motivación y perseverancia, es lo que desea. En cada certamen y proyecto del que participa, obtiene piezas claves para crecer tanto personal como profesionalmente. Esto le ayuda a construir su confianza y desarrollo en distintas facetas de adentro hacia afuera. Su propósito es poder contar su historia y ser ejemplo para todo aquel que desea alcanzar sus sueños. Como nos indica, no es tan sólo resaltar en los escenarios, sino llevar un mensaje a través de un proyecto de belleza con propósito. Teniendo como meta inicial impactar la vida de otros haciendo llegar donaciones de artículos de primera necesidad y ropa. ¿Por qué ropa? Estando tan involucrada en la moda por su carrera como modelo ha podido conocer cómo esta industria trae efectos sociales, ambientales y económicos. Se estima que es la segunda industria más contaminante en el mundo. También, la mayoría de la producción está localizada en países subdesarrollados donde la mano de obra es muy barata. A raíz de investigar y educarse en el tema, nace su proyecto #SegundaVidaAMiArmario para así concientizar sobre este tema. ¡Busca más sobre el tema en @chelseygarciapr! “Mi anhelo es que el nombre de mi isla suene en el mundo. Que podamos compartir nuestra fuerza, resiliencia y unión con el resto de la humanidad. Porque a pesar de vivir en tiempos difíciles, cuando nos unimos todo es posible. Living foods prevent and cure disease because they are nutrient-dense and enzyme-rich. Lifestyle® is their Energy Soup. Energy soup is a complete meal containing every nutrient in a balanced form that the body needs. The Wigmore diet also includes leafy greens, vegetables, sprouts, fruits, cultured foods including the beverage Rejuvelac™ and sauerkraut, nut and seed patés, “cheeses” and “yogurts,” dehydrated snacks, and wheatgrass juice. Most of the food consumed at the Institute is grown in three huge greenhouses. The first greenhouse produces natural organically made compost in which the wheatgrass, sprouts, and greens are grown. The second greenhouse grows lettuce, greens, and herbs. The third greenhouse is dedicated to a variety of sprouts, including wheatgrass. Their programs teach participants how to grow, sprout, and prepare their own living food. Complex water filtration and purification system provides the best quality water. Solar energy supplies for the electrical needs of the Institute. There are classrooms and several apartments on the beach that house visitors who participate in the residential programs at the Institute. The grounds are impeccably maintained with tropical flowers and plants.
Los alimentos vivos se componen de alimentos vegetales integrales y orgánicos y todos están preparados para conservar sus nutrientes y enzimas, los componentes básicos de la salud. La base de Living Foods Lifestyle® es su sopa energética. La sopa energética es una comida completa que contiene todos los nutrientes en una forma equilibrada que el cuerpo necesita. The Ann Wigmore Institute has a variety of residential and non-residential programs as well as an online course. Their main program is the Living Foods Lifestyle® TwoWeek Certificate Course. This is a program for those interested in learning all about Living Foods. It is also for health care professionals who want to share this diet with their clients and patients. An introductory course focuses on a week of relaxation and renewal that allows participants to unwind on the beach while cleansing and rebalance their bodies. The Institute also has an online program that includes live and taped instruction on all aspects of the Living Foods Lifestyle®.
El Instituto Ann Wigmore tiene una variedad de programas residenciales y no residenciales, así como un curso en línea. Sean Killarney was born and raised on the west end of Long Beach, New York. He was a New York City fireman for 12 years and is now The Beach House owner in Rincón, Puerto Rico.
Sean Killarney nació y se crió en el extremo oeste de Long Beach, Nueva York. Fue bombero de la ciudad de Nueva York durante 12 años y ahora es propietario de The Beach House en Rincón, Puerto Rico.
Allie Simon is from a little town called East Rockaway on Long Island, New York. Her parents are immigrants from Uruguay and, according to Allie, “did an amazing job of keeping me rooted to my Latino culture while raising me in the United States. I think that’s why I love Puerto Rico so much; it makes me feel at home. At some point, I got a cute little apartment in Long Beach and met a ton of new people. Sean was one of them. We became friends through other friends and eventually began working together at The Beach House. A few years had gone by, I guess the timing was right, and we fell in love out of nowhere. It came at us pretty fast, but when you know, you just know.
Allie Simon es de una pequeña ciudad llamada East Rockaway en Long Island, Nueva York. Sus padres son inmigrantes de Uruguay y, según Allie, “hicieron un trabajo increíble criandome con mi cultura latina mientras en los Estados Unidos. Creo que por eso amo tanto a Puerto Rico; me hace sentir como en casa. En algún momento, conseguí un bonito apartamento en Long Beach y conocí a un montón de gente nueva. Sean fue uno de ellos. Nos hicimos amigos a través de otros amigos y finalmente comenzamos a trabajar juntos en The Beach House. Habían pasado unos años, supongo que era el momento adecuado, y nos enamoramos de la nada. Fue bastante rápido, pero cuando lo sabes, simplemente lo sabes.
He asked me to move to Puerto Rico with him, and here we are now with our crazy little two-year-old, living on the beach, appreciating all the beautiful things this life has to offer.”

The Wedding

Sean and Allie tied the knot at a well-known venue, Caracol Che, on March 27, 2021. They were initially set to get married last year, March 2020, but the pandemic caused things to come to a screeching halt. Allie tells us that, “We actually had three different wedding dates, and the last one finally stuck! Puerto Rico went on full lockdown 2 weeks before our wedding date last year, 03/28/2020. Everyone had to cancel their flights, we had to cancel the venue, hotels were closed, it was definitely a nightmare. I had no idea how this year would turn out. I was prepared for the worst but still trying to remain positive. I would not have been able to do it without my wedding planner, Sarah Rosario; she is a rockstar. She handled it all, promised us our big day would come no matter what, and she made it happen! Our wedding was an actual dream. I could not believe how beautiful and perfect everything was. Everyone who came had a blast. It was just unreal. Everything happens for a reason, and I truly believe our wedding happened exactly when and how it was supposed to.”
Sean y Allie se casaron en un reconocido lugar, Caracol Che, el 27 de marzo de 2021. Inicialmente estaban programados para casarse el año pasado, marzo de 2020, pero la pandemia hizo que las cosas se detuvieran en seco. Allie nos dice que, “¡En realidad tuvimos tres fechas de boda diferentes, y la última finalmente se mantuvo! Puerto Rico se cerró por completo 2 semanas antes de la fecha de nuestra boda el año pasado, 28/03/2020. Todos tuvieron que cancelar sus vuelos, tuvimos que cancelar el lugar, los hoteles estaban cerrados, definitivamente fue una pesadilla. No tenía idea de cómo sería este año. Estaba preparada para lo peor, pero aún trataba de mantener una actitud positiva. No hubiera podido hacerlo sin mi coordinadora de bodas, Sarah Rosario; ella es una estrella de rock. Ella lo manejó todo, nos prometió que nuestro gran día llegaría sin importar qué, ¡y lo hizo posible! Nuestra boda fue un sueño real. No podía creer lo hermoso y perfecto que era todo. Todos los que vinieron se divirtieron mucho. Fue simplemente irreal. Todo sucede por una razón, y realmente creo que nuestra boda sucedió exactamente cuándo y cómo se suponía que debía suceder “.
