“Together, we’re restoring the coastline we love—one trail, one beach, one community day at a time.“

On the breathtaking cliffs and beaches of Punta Borinquen, a quiet but strong community movement has been working in Aguadilla towards the stewardship and protection of our beaches since 2013 Rescate Playas Borinquen (RPBQN), a 501(c)3 / Act 60 compliant nonprofit, is dedicated to restoring outdoor recreational spaces and protecting the natural resources across the 642-acre area that spans Punta Borinquen one of the Northwest’s most treasured landscapes Their long-term vision is to establish Puerto Rico’s North West Ecological & Recreational Corridor, linking conservation, recreation, and community wellness
What sets Rescate Playas Borinquen apart from traditional environmental organizations is its hands-on approach While clean-ups and environmental education are part of their efforts, the group goes much further RPBQN is actively involved in public placemaking repairing and restoring the physical environment itself From rebuilding trails and recreation areas to improving beach access and reviving historic public spaces, the organization is deeply rooted in community participation and empowerment And the impact is undeniable:
8,629+ volunteers and participants
18,603+ community service hours
1,643+ organized events and activities
Over $1 million reinvested into the community

These numbers tell a story of a community that shows up, works hard, and cares deeply for its land. Whether you're a resident, a longtime surfer, a weekend visitor, or a newcomer discovering Aguadilla for the first time Rescate Playas Borinquen invites you to be part of the movement Every hand makes a difference, every hour strengthens the community, and every step helps bring the vision of a thriving ecological corridor closer to reality
To learn more or get involved, visit Rescate Playas Borinquen during one of their community days, volunteer events, or conservation activities The coastline is calling and together, we can protect it for generations to come
