16,800 SQFT contemporary art museum. Glulam timber shell covered with a tensile membrane over CLT panel and timber construction. Passive and active sustainable systems with Passive House envelope and a LEED Gold score of 75 points.
This reimagining of an existing museum creates a sustainable space that welcomes community and facilitates engagement and connection to contemporary art. This is achieved by creating a sculptural organic building form covered with a veil that provides shading and beauty, suffusing both interior and exterior spaces with natural diffuse light, and activating the ground plane.
