02 | Demographics
For over a decade, NVEEE’s programs have been in part peer-led. Each year at PALS, we develop a diverse group of young people as upstanders who will use their voices to further social change. A small percentage of these individuals will go on to participate in PALP. Although some come from privileged backgrounds, the majority have one or more marginalized identities, experience barriers to program participation, and are working to overcome significant challenges in their own lives.

The Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) is a seven-day summit that takes place on several university campuses. We run workshops, shared service-learning projects, guest speakers, and networking opportunities.
At PALS, all students are affirmed and included. With diversity, equity, and inclusion at the forefront of our programming, we uniquely prepare teens to be thoughtful, compassionate, and socially responsible leaders.
In one power-packed week, students ages 14 - 19 are trained to think critically about social issues, learn how to access community resources, and are equipped with practical leadership and life skills. They also receive access to coaching from on-site college advisors and financial aid representatives. To top it off, they earn at least 50 service hours!
