SHAPING BEE-AUTIFUL MINDS A DAY AT CAMP BUZZ IS FULL OF ENRICHING, ENERGIZING, AND ENLIGHTENING ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN TO ENCOUNTER. Through interactive instruction that is geared to engage all learnings styles, children will have a multi-sensory experience. From trying on different careers, to connecting with our different programs on campus, to practicing an active lifestyle through exercise and swim, children will be immersed in Eastfield’s diverse and promising college environment. “We have a real commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in our community,” said Executive Dean Judith Dumont. “While one of our goals for Camp Buzz is for the kids to have a ton of fun, we take the learning very seriously.” CREDITS: PHOTOGRAPHY: LAUREN SHAFER & LILIANA RODRIGUEZ; COPY WRITING: JUDITH DUMONT AND RYAN OUELLETTE; DESIGN AND LAYOUT: THOMAS BUCK STUDIO

Parents can find a real value in having their children attend programming on a college campus. By exposing them to a collegiate environment, they become familiar with the collegiate atmosphere. This creates a higher likelihood kids will pursue higher education in the future. Camp Buzz will also help kids to expand their worldview. Elementary and junior high students often attend school year after year with the same peers, which can lead to labeling and being ‘stuck’ with a particular perception. “A child may become known as studious, quiet, etc., when, really, he or she can be boisterous in another setting,” said Dumont. “Oftentimes, a child will break out of his supposed categorization if given the chance. And this is what Camp Buzz is all about!” We have all been shaped by our environments in one way or another, but doing something fresh while making new friends allows kids to get out of their normal routine and broaden their perspectives. “We want kids from our service area to become exposed to the rich and diverse culture of our community on a local, national, and global level,” said Dumont. Let’s shape some bee-autiful minds this summer at Camp Buzz! For more information please contact 972 860 7114. Scholarships Available.
