After 3 years of studying hard Nathan has completed his Level 3 Technical Advanced Extended Diploma in Agricultural Engineering with Distinction. Since achieving his brilliant results Nathan has also gained a certificate in Air Conditioning. Find out more from Nathan's experience at college below: “Llysfasi College was a great experience when it came to learning about all agricultural machinery. The course covered a vast range of topics which I felt was very beneficial to my job. This included engines, hydraulics, transmission systems, electrics, diagnostics and much more.The lecturers were very good at delivering the course content and providing the information needed at the right level.

We did technical case studies on several types of agricultural equipment to understand how they operate and what to expect when future repairs are needed. This work would sometimes be set to do at home or in study periods.

Like most technicians, the practical work was my favourite.

The workshop at Llysfasi was great with all the facilities needed and tractors provided by AGCO and dealers. Llysfasi also had machinery of their own that we could learn from including the combine which was one of the most enjoyable projects during the course.”

“I've grown up on a mixed arable and livestock farm giving me lots of practical experience. I completed a Mechanical Engineering degree at Harper Adams which has taught me a lot of technical and practical skills in the agricultural sector. I have joined the sprayers and dryers team at Edwards & Farmer Ltd where I will be designing and installing grain handling systems for customers new grain driers, diagnosing problems on driers and sprayers and carrying out the necessary repairs.” - Ben, 2023

HORSCH announces new and updated cultivators, drills and sprayers for Agritechnica HORSCH has announced a wide range of updates and new models to its cultivator drill and sprayer ranges, which will be shown to the public at Agritechnica show 2023.

“We are always innovating and developing our product range based on feedback from our customers, and what the Horsch family learn from farming our own land in Europe,” explains Stephen Burcham, General Manager for HORSCH UK. “The new HORSCH Leeb VT sprayer has a variable track enabling widths from 1.8m to 2.4m, which will be of great interest to contractors, and we expect this to increase sales of our self-propelled sprayers in the UK into a new sector of the market.

“The new Avatar SL and Sprinter SL drills expand these popular ranges to offer proven features at small working widths, while the new Maestro TX features a telescopic frame for a wide variety of row spacings. As always, our goal is to provide the machinery that enables the farmer to work the way he wants to, machinery adapted and developed to meet the needs of UK farmers.”

HORSCH digital solutions In the digital sector, HORSCH develops numerous solutions that support the user in every step of the process, from the preparations required for using the machine to the spare part supply. Depending on the use in the field, there are applications that support the customer with machine adjustment and the direct handling of technology. The objective is to provide a toolbox for the customer by means of user-friendly digital solutions.

HorschConnect is a product family from HORSCH that aims to make the exchange of data between machine and customer as efficient as possible, as well as to link customer, dealer and HORSCH in a better way. Whether locating the current position of the machine in the field or controlling a seed drill with an app, this can be carried out with HorschConnect.

HorschConnect focuses on the benefits of connectivity and digitalisation.

It includes the increasing digitalisation of HORSCH machines, using apps like MobileControl app to control the machine via a smartphone or the HorschConnect Telematics Portal to record telemetry data. HorschConnect optimises the flow of information to ensure customers are better informed.
