Edwards & Farmer Ltd was founded in 1989 by two young enthusiastic agricultural engineers providing Shropshire and the Marches with on farm service and repairs. Over the last 30 + years the business has grown steadily and moved into agricultural machinery and tractor sales. THE ALL NEW Q SERIES

After a hugely successful and well received customer launch on the 2nd September, Valtra’s 5th generation model range is now complete with a brand new series that fits between the popular T and S Series. The all new Q Series, designed, engineered and manufactured in Finland, is the perfect tractor for large farms and contractors that seek performance and integrated smart technology in the 230-305 HP range.

By combining industry-leading design, high quality components and finishing and outstanding aftersales support, the Q Series has the power, intelligence, and versatility to maximise productivity while driving down costs for large farms and contractors.

THINKS LIKE A PRO

The transmission is easy to operate. The Q Series’ electronic transmission management automatically selects the lowest possible engine revs for the work to maintain the lowest fuel consumption, and distributes the power accordingly to the hydraulics, PTO, or transmission. The driver simply adjusts the settings to whichever best suits the driver or task. With droop control the operator can change the behaviour of the tractor for even more economic or intensive operating to save either fuel or time, depending on customer’s cost-saving preferences.

The Q is not too light, not too heavy with a weight of 9.2 tons and protects soil from compaction. The maximum gross weight is 16 tons which guarantees a high payload and it means always transporting load legally. At just 337 cm tall (with Valtra Guide) and with a 300.5 cm wheelbase, the Q Series is also perfectly proportioned. The centre of gravity is low which makes the Q extremely stable. The Aires Suspension in combination with the long wheelbase increases the pulling force of the tractor and reduces power hopping. The grip to the ground is increased because the air suspension has a faster reaction time compared to industry standard hydraulic suspension.

SPRINTER ST INNOVATIVE AND ROBUST TINE SEEDING TECHNOLOGY

The Sprinter ST is a tine seeder that combines soil preparation, seeding and fertilisation in one pass. The robust Sprinter has clear advantages in min-till conditions, with lots of straw residues still remaining on the soil surface. Strong frame design, low draft coulters and large seed hoppers allow high performance with an excellent economic input / output ratio. Several time-consuming processes are reduced to one pass, thus increasing the precision of seed and fertiliser placement. The gentle tyre packing system ensures optimal seed to soil contact. Not only does the use of the Sprinter result in better efficiency, but in an improved, even seed germination and stronger plants (HORSCH PPF system). Ideal conditions for high yield potential are thereby created.

Pedrotti Master Driers are suitable for handling all types of materials and can deal with different climate conditions and cropping systems worldwide. With 15 basic capacities and with specific alternatives to meet individual requirements, the Pedrotti Master Drier is suitable for most applications.

All new machines carry a 3 year factory warranty. The exceptionally high standard of construction of Pedrotti Master Driers makes them durable giving a strong demand for second hand machines.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The Pedrotti Master Drier is constructed with a heavy duty chassis fitted with stabilising screw jacks and incorporating level bubbles. The drying chamber is fabricated from “Inox” perforated stainless steel and is framed for strength. Internal rotating agitators ensure continual grain recirculation giving facility for fast unloading

The centre auger is driven by short belts incorporating a gearbox giving a more positive drive On all RS models the top auger is raised and lowered by a geared winch unit which engages with the centre auger drive and is automatically securely fastened in one operation The same principle applies to the top screen.

AIR CIRCULATION

The centrifugal fan is quiet in operation and gives maximum possible air circulation throughout the drying chamber. The fan disengagement is very simple. A fan cover is provided on tractor drive models and an on/off switch for electric drive machines, this gives total control of air movement, especially during the loading/unloading process.

HEAT REQUIREMENTS

The burner system incorporates a fail safe control system with photo cell cut off. Oil fired burners have a twin or triple jet oscillating principle controlled by independent solenoids with the possibility to interchange jets to meet any heat requirement. These dual fuel burners can be operated with diesel or kerosene and are economical, estimated at 5 litres per ton, giving 5% moisture extraction.

The automatic temperature system is directly related to moisture and is controlled by three pre-set thermostats which are individually programmed to meet crop requirements and have automatic cut-off facilities for control of heat All controls are mounted in weatherproof panels, incorporating operating and safety systems

Horsch is an established manufacturer of high-end sprayers. Horsch enters the three-point crop care market with the newly developed mounted sprayer Leeb CS. CS stands for CompactSprayer and the sprayer is designed to be both compact and manoeuvrable - ideal for smaller fields, completing their range. The Leeb CS models include three different tank sizes -1,400, 1,800l, 2,200l with an additional front tanks to soon be offered. Boom widths available form 18m-30m, featuring a 25cm nozzle design. Being new to the Horsch range, the Leeb CS mounted sprayer relies on proven technology from existing models. Including active boom control system, continuous internal cleaning system and induction tank. The sprayer also features hydraulically driven pumps and the same user interface as that used on the Leeb LT & GS.

The Horsch brand is known for innovation and build quality and there are products in the range for all types and sizes of enterprise, from smaller family farms to large estates. Chemical application is increasingly expensive, and for all sizes of farm the priority is to get as much of the chemical as possible on to the target. Horsch sprayers have industry-leading technology to ensure this happens, but it’s the incredibly stable boom and 25cm nozzle spacing that impresses most.

The effective management of grass leys and pastures will significantly improve their performance. If you’re looking to improve your soil structure or level uneven fields and bury stones, then our low disturbance subsoilers and ballast rollers will do the job.

Freeing your pastures or leys from soil compaction can reduce the impact of drought and lodging on your grass. A healthy soil structure promotes drainage and deep rooting. Rolling to level the surface can prevent stones and soil from entering your silage, helping improve the quality and animal health. We believe grass should be treated as a crop, and managed accordingly.
