Our story:

1965

EF is founded in Sweden by Bertil Hult. He brought a group of Swedish students to Brighton, England. The idea was simple – they would learn English while traveling on holiday.

1978

EF becomes truly global, establishing itself not only in Europe and North America, but also in Mexico and Japan.

1988

EF is the official Language School of the Seoul Summer Olympics, EF's first of many Olympic appointments.

2003

Hult International Business School is founded by EF and today is proudly recognized as the first triple-accredited business school in the U.S.

2005

2008

Whether it's building a business portfolio that includes a company analysis and final presentation, creating a fashion exhibition including a sketchbook and hand-made dress or constructing a revised and edited script for a stage play, you'll finish with a completed project that you can showcase to future employers.

You'll advance one English course level every six weeks when you attend all your classes and complete every assignment, and you may move more quickly depending on your progression. Our method will guarantee that you make maximum progress – otherwise, you'll study for free until you do.

How does it work?

Our levels are linked to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), published by the Council of Europe. Each CEFR stage is divided into two or three EF course levels. The chart to the left shows the ideal progress you can expect to achieve, although your success depends on the intensity of your program and your personal motivation. Learning at higher levels continues through the C2 stage, where you can master new concepts and strategies to perform at native speaker level.

Gain insight into today’s successful business practices while learning the trade language of the corporate world. This program is a combination of intensive English studies with a specialized business curriculum. This 6-, 9- or 11-month program bridges the gap between your previous education and what is expected at your chosen international university. A six-month fasttrack option is available in destinations worldwide for eligible students.

Perfect your language skills

You’ll also benefit from free language testing to help determine your language proficiency. For students whose language abilities are not yet strong enough, we offer an additional study program, the EF Language Preparation Program. This will help you establish a strong foundation of fluency and meet the enrolment requirements of the EF University Foundation Program.

Specialized coursework

You’ll learn essential study skills such as essay writing, critical thinking and group work as well as prepare for and take the necessary proficiency exams required for admission including IELTS and TOEFL. The EF Pre-Master’s and Pre-MBA Programs are flexible in length so that you can study for either 6, 9 or 11 months. You’ll be able to take specialized module classes in an academic area of your choice, such as International Business, Marketing, Law and Social Sciences, to help prepare you for your postgraduate degree. Each specialized class is designed to engage you with a topic that interests you, as well as helping you to build the necessary language, research and study skills you will need to succeed in a demanding academic environment. Traveling to your EF campus

EF will organize both flights and transfers. Simply contact your nearest EF office for an offer.

Payment schedule

- Enrollment fee ($195) and Cancellation Protection are due at the time of booking

- 14 days after booking, the equivalent of USD 2000 is due

- 45 days after booking, another 15% of the program fee is due

- The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to the program start date

Travel insurance

As safety and security are our top priority, all students traveling with EF International Language Campuses are required to have travel insurance. Cancellation Protection

EF Cancellation Protection is available upon enrollment and charged as a one-time, non-refundable fee of $95. This covers cancellations before departure due to illness.
