WELCOME

The mission of the Edmond Public Schools Foundation is connecting the community to advance excellence and enrich student opportunities through Edmond Public Schools. Our main priority is to execute our strategic plan to provide sustainable support to EPS for years to come

Over the next 5 years, we will invest $2.6MM into Edmond Public Schools, leverage an additional $1.7MM in support, grow our endowment by $280,000, secure 10 Legacy Society members and find creative ways to collaborate as a partner in public education. We will be able to accomplish these goals by increasing our capacity which includes the continued strengthening of our sphere of influence.

We have an outstanding Board of Directors and volunteer base who advocate for us in the realm of fundraising but also bring awareness to the community about who we are and what we do. We have strengthened our relationship with the district to align our focus on the greatest areas of need seen within our schools We are partnering with EPS to provide resources for Mental Health & Student Support, Art in Schools, Professional Development and Classroom Support through DonorsChoose.

Edmond Public Schools are long known for advancing excellence in everything they do and the Foundation, along with Corporate and Individual partners, have a shared interest in ensuring that this remains the legacy of every child that emerges out of Edmond Public Schools as a contributing member of our community

Please consider joining us on this journey!

I am a product of public schools and remember looking up to my teachers and wanting to be like them. I am still in awe of teachers. I was a teacher's assistant in college and saw how hard teachers work! I ultimately chose a different service path through a career in nonprofit management and serving students, teachers and public education is a full circle for me I am grateful for the opportunity to utilize my experience and expertise to support the students in our community who deserve a great place to grow through an excellent education!

Will you join us this year as we celebrate the past, support the present, and plan for the future? Consider attending an event, matching what EPS employees donate monthly, asking your company to be a Corporate Partner, or leaving a legacy through a thoughtful estate gift

We are excited to be partners in public education with you!

Strong schools equal strong communities! The Edmond Public Schools Foundation, and its partners, believe the future of Edmond depends upon every child in our schools receiving a quality education and every Edmond citizen and company supporting these children Having the resources necessary to help our students reach their highest potential is critical. We work closely with district leadership, educators, students and parents to identify needs and generate resources that benefit the educational experience of Edmond Public Schools students.

To support our efforts, we have created this Investment Opportunities booklet to provide you with a menu of opportunities to support students and their education. There is no greater return on your investment than supporting our schools, teachers and students.

A recent study in Edmond, OK found that 50% of students were experiencing a moderate to high level of psychological distress, more than 75% were experiencing moderate to high levels of depression and more than 17% seriously considered attempting suicide.

Edmond Public Schools not only prepares students to be college and career ready, but also educates the whole child so they are ready to learn. Research points to the critical role educators play in cultivating inner strength in children through regular practices and programs.

We are committed to supporting the whole child and have a goal to raise $1.25 million over the next five years to help provide mental health support for students.

The average Oklahoma teacher spends $459 out of their own pocket for their classroom. Classroom Support is provided by the EPS Foundation through DonorsChoose, which has garnered support for our classrooms from 48 states and leveraged $5 for every $1 donated!

"Our district's incredible teachers know their students' unique needs better than anyone." Dr. Angela Grunewald, Edmond Public Schools Superintendent

You can also directly donate to Edmond Public Schools teacher projects on DonorsChoose Visit www.DonorsChoose.org and search Edmond, OK or a specific teacher to find a project!

The Art in Schools program reaches every elementary school in Edmond Public Schools! This partnership with the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond provides a fine arts curriculum in all 3rd and 4th grade classrooms in Edmond Public Schools

Edmond Public Schools has robust art programming, including both fine and performing arts Exposing young children to the arts is critical in building their confidence in their artistic abilities, so they choose art programming as they grow through middle and high school

The Edmond Public Schools Foundation will support three elementary schools this year

Each year at the Celebration of Excellence, we honor those who do the day to day work in our schools, caring for our children and ensuring academic excellence.

At this annual event, Teacher of the Year, Support Employee of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year are recognized. Finalists and winners all receive prizes and a cash award.

Please consider supporting this exciting annual event by donating prizes given to 75 teachers and support staff. You can also financially support this event by donating to help endow this celebration!

Student Ambassadors represent the EPS Foundation by increasing awareness of the Foundation in the community and their school. Guest speakers from the district and community attend Student Ambassador meetings to build leadership and educate them on the needs of public education.

Students have the opportunity to build a diverse set of skills from community outreach to public speaking However, the number one thing I hear from students is that the program helped them improve their social skills by collaborating with students from other schools and adults in the community.

Deanna Boston, EPSF Executive Director

A big part of how we serve Edmond Public Schools includes advocating for the needs of the district and its students while mobilizing the community to help meet those needs.

This includes advocating for the need for open employment positions, organizing and sharing information at community fairs, speaking in the community about how community members can support Edmond Public Schools and advocating for the ongoing needs of the district!

If you would like to volunteer to support any of these efforts, complete the Volunteer Waiver.

Thank you for believing in me and my students They are beyond excited to receive these new books, and so am I
