Connecting the community to advance excellence and enrich student opportunities through Edmond Public Schools.
The Edmond Public Schools Foundation was founded in 1984 by a group of parents interested in public education and specifically supporting Edmond Public Schools. At that time, Edmond had ten school sites that served 9,766 students. Today, EPS has grown to be the third largest school district in Oklahoma with twenty-eight school sites that serve 26,138 students with 3,000 employees. Since its inception, the Edmond Public Schools Foundation has been able to provide millions of dollars in direct financial support for district-wide initiatives, classroom support, student scholarships, and educator awards The Foundation also provides additional support through advocacy, in-kind donations, and volunteer management. This year, we will cross the major milestone of the 40th anniversary of EPSF. We have experienced huge momentum in community awareness, individual donations and corporate sponsorship and invite you to be part of this journey to work for the future of our Edmond students. We all benefit from the quality public education we have in Edmond whether as a parent, grandparent, neighbor, homeowner, business owner or citizen
We have a highly engaged Board of Directors representing a variety of backgrounds and an Advisory Board comprised of city leaders, EPS leadership, parents, teachers, and students. We continually strive to align our goals with those of EPS to reflect the greatest needs. Our current five-year goal is to invest $2 6 million into Edmond Public Schools with the support of community partners, leverage an additional $1 7 million in support, grow its endowment by $280,000, secure 10 Legacy Society members and find creative ways to collaborate as a partner in public education. Achieving this goal will help EPS continue the history of excellence it has experienced since it began in 1922.
Please consider making EPSF the beneficiary of your time, talent and/or treasure. Help us further the EPSF vision to “function as the leading facilitator of community investment in Edmond Public Schools”!
Public education needs your support At the Edmond Public Schools Foundation we frequently ask, "How can we help?" Often, what is required is financial resources from the community to implement innovative programs that enhance students' learning experience The Edmond Public Schools Foundation has been asking this question for 40 years!
Will you join us this year as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Edmond Public Schools Foundation's commitment to supporting Edmond Public Schools? You can participate by attending one of our events, matching the monthly donations made by EPS employees, urging your company to become a Corporate Partner, contributing to support a specific program, or leaving a lasting legacy through a thoughtful estate gift.
We are thrilled to be your partners in advancing public education!
RUTHIE RIGGS BOARD PRESIDENT DEANNA BOSTON CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERThis school year, we are proud to commemorate 40 years of dedicated support for Edmond Public Schools! It all began when our founding board members recognized a crucial need and gathered in their living rooms to devise the best way to assist the school district. Fast forward four decades, and we continue to support Edmond Public Schools with the same passion and purpose as those visionary individuals who initially identified the need. Our mission has always been to provide immediate aid while simultaneously establishing an organization that ensures long-term sustainability.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the founding board members Ken Rees, John Arledge, Bob Rudkin, as well as all the subsequent board members, donors, and volunteers who have tirelessly followed in their footsteps over the past 40 years. Your unwavering commitment has made an indelible impact on our community and the education of countless students.
