Tras un 2020 que presentó una importante caída en el sector náutico, el año pasado ha supuesto el esperado retorno al crecimiento y la recuperación, con números que invitan al optimismo también en 2022, donde la normalidad se va instalando en todas las actividades de ocio.

Ha tenido que pasar más de una década para que las embarcaciones de recreo hayan superado el número de nuevas matriculaciones de aquel año. Concretamente, en 2021 hemos alcanzado 7.178, una cifra que habla de la buena salud de la que de nuevo goza este relevante segmento de la industria vinculada a la navegación. Esta cantidad representa un 33% más que en 2020, según la Asociación Nacional de Empresas Náuticas (ANEN).

De ese número, tres cuartas partes corresponden a barcos destinados a uso privativo, mientras que el resto son embarcaciones enfocadas al chárter náutico (alquiler).

A continuación, desglosamos los principales datos que configuran este escenario:

• En cuanto a eslora, las embarcaciones más demandadas son las de hasta 8 metros, con un aumento del 15% sobre el año anterior. Representan claramente la gran mayoría del negocio, con el 86% del total del mercado. Entre 8 y 12 metros las matriculaciones crecieron un 40%, las de entre 12 y 16 metros lo hicieron algo más del 19% y las superiores a 16 metros aumentaron por encima del 14%.

• Considerando el tipo de embarcación, las de motor se incrementaron casi un 23%, siendo las más habituales entre los propietarios con un 45% de cuota del mercado. A continuación, las motos de agua, las embarcaciones neumáticas semirrígidas y las plegables, en todos los casos con crecimientos positivos entre el 6,5 y el 10%. After a significant drop in the nautical sector in 2020, last year fulfilled the expected return to growth and recovery, with numbers that invite optimism for 2022 with normality settling in all leisure activities.

Not only can we speak of positive news in terms of business and activity trends, but also of a magnificent result that has not been seen since 2008, no less. It has taken more than a decade for recreational boats to surpass the number of new registrations of that year. Specifically, in 2021 we reached 7,178, a figure that speaks of the good health enjoyed by this relevant segment of the industry. This number represents a 33% rise from 2020, according to the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN).

Of that number, three-quarters correspond to private boats, while the rest are boats focused on charters.

Below, we break down the main data of this scenario:

• In terms of length, the most demanded boats are those up to 8 meters, with an increase of 15% over the previous year. They represent the vast majority of the business, with 86% of the total market. Registration of boats between 8 and 12 meters grew by 40%, those between 12 and 16 meters grew just over 19% and those over 16 meters increased by 14%.

• Considering the type of boat, motorboats increased by almost 23%, being the most common among owners with a 45% market share. This was followed by jet skis, semi-rigid inflatable boats, and folding boats, in all cases with positive growth of between 6.5 and 10%.

• Sailboats have been the boats with the highest increase in registrations in 2021, 43.6% more than in 2020, although their market share barely exceeds 8% of the total. • Los veleros han sido las embarcaciones que mayor incremento de matriculaciones han tenido en 2021, un 43,6% más que en 2020, aunque su cuota de mercado apenas supera el 8% del total.

Según Carlos Sanlorenzo, Secretario General de ANEN, “una nueva crisis, en este caso sanitaria, ha sacado a la luz lo mejor del sector náutico, la fortaleza que ha conseguido en estos años y la gran capacidad de adaptación como motor económico para impulsar el turismo náutico de calidad”.
