TEXTUFIL FUE FUNDADO EN 1972. Es una empresa familiar dirigida por su presidente, Jorge Elías Bahaia, sus hijos y nietos.
TEXTUFIL WAS FOUNDED IN 1972. It is a family business run by its president, Jorge Elias Bahaia, his sons and grandchildren.
En su inicio producía hilos texturizados de nylon y polyester, que eran distribuidos en el mercado nacional y centroamericano. Uno de los primeros desafíos que enfrentó la empresa en sus inicios fue la escasez de hilo durante la crisis del polyester en 1973. Gracias a mucho esfuerzo y dedicación, la empresa logró sobrepasar el obstáculo.
In its beginnings, Textufil produced texturized nylon and polyester yarns, which were distributed in the local and Central American markets. One of the first obstacles that the company encountered was the yarn shortage during the polyester crisis in 1973. With much effort and dedication, the company was able to overcome this obstacle.
Con el objetivo de integrar verticalmente el proceso productivo y para satisfacer la demanda de consumidores y clientes, decidieron elaborar tela terminada, teñida y estampada, de acuerdo a las exigencias de la moda y preferencia de los clientes.
In order to vertically integrate the production process and satisfy the demands of customers and clients, the company decided to produce finished fabric, dyed and printed, according to fashion trends and customer requirements. To achieve such objective, multiple investments have been made along the years: The sewing yarn plant was expanded and technified, providing a more diverse product line. A spinning mill for cotton and blends was installed, giving its knitting mill more versatility and yarn availability for quick response.
