Award winning St. Helier Marina is a marvellous place to spend a few days thanks to a very central location that puts everything a visiting yacht crew might want within easy reach. Jersey is officially the sunniest spot in the British Isles and when the sun shines the island’s excellent beaches, from tiny coves to huge expanses of golden sand, are hard to beat. Upon arrival at St. Helier Harbour virtually all visiting yachts head for the very sheltered St. Helier Marina which is the main short-stay base providing spaces for 150 visiting yachts.

Jersey’s main visitor’s marina, is conveniently situated in the Upper Harbour, St. Helier, only few minutes walk from the Town Centre, with berthing for up to 200 visiting yachts Pontoons F, G and H, and up 100 on the holding pontoons 4 and 5, access is 3 hours either side of high water. FUEL / CARBURANT
Fuel is available from the self service fuel pontoon between South Pier and the New North Quay 24/24, at the Victoria Pier, and inside Elizabeth Marina. Tidal restrictions apply so please check the adjacent depth gauge.

No animals are allowed in Jersey Marinas. Visiting yachtsmen are advised that, as a precaution, the disembarkation anywhere in the Channel Islands of all animals originating from outside the British Isles is strictly prohibited. CCTV is in operation 24 hours a day around the entire harbour and all marinas. In addition, night time and event security is provided by Elite Security Services who work closely with the port operations and management teams. In case of emergency please call Jersey Coastguard on VHF CH 16.

The marina pond is maintained at a level of 5m (16,5ft) above chart datum by means of a sill gate.
International Port Traffic Signals and depth gauges show when entry and exit are possible. This can be taken as 3hrs each side of high water, the actual period differing slightly with Spring and Neaps.
A digital gauge showing the depth of water (in meters) above the still gates is situated at the entrance to the Marina.

ELIZABETH MARINA ENTRANCE LIGHTS / SIGNAUX D’ENTRÉE ET DE SORTIE
The entry and departure lights at Elizabeth Marina operate on an alternating one-way basis when the gate is open. This is due to the fact that visibility is restricted by the dog-legged rock armour wall on the approach which affords protection to craft from swells and storms. All leisure craft are advised to keep a listening watch on VHF channel 14 when manœuvring within the port of St. Helier and its marinas.

Arriving from outside the common travel area (Jersey, Guernsey, UK, Ireland, Isle of Man), you need to complete a Maritime Customs and Immigration Declaration.

Jersey is only 14 miles away from the coast of France, with ports such as St. Malo, Dinard, Granville and Carteret within easy travelling distance. The other Channel Islands of Guernsey and Alderney are also nearby.

A 5 knots speed limit applies to all areas of St. Helier Harbour and its approaches, northward from La Collette Tanker Berth Breakwater and south-eastwards of the Elizabeth Castle Causeway.

Approaching St. Helier port is quite easy, with clearly indicated pathways and daymarks. The rocky cape, at southeast of the island, require a specific attention: during high tides, currents are strong and sea can remove on about three nautical miles.

It may not be around Jersey in a day, but expect a real challenge at a leisurely pace over a few days. Most diverse landscape - rolling dunes, tranquil wooded valleys and dramatic seascapes. Squeeze into the mix captivating medieval castles and a wealth of wildlife - all within Jersey’s nine by five miles. Photo opportunities include (anti - clockwise from St. Helier): Pontac with its views over the lunar landscape of the south-east
coast; the small fishing harbour of La Rocque, Mont Orgueil Castle, Archirondel, St. Catherine’s breakwater, Rozel Bay, views of the French coast and the other Channel Islands at Sorel Point, ruins of Grosnez Castle, the sweep of St. Ouen’s Bay, Les Mielles de Morville, La Corbière Lighthouse, Les Creux Country Park, Beauport and Portelet Bays, the picturesque harbour at St. Aubin and Elizabeth Castle. Meeting points will vary but you may want to start and finish from St. Helier.

Head north, for fifteen miles of stunning footpaths with views to France and the other Channel Islands. If 15 miles is too long, tackle it in smaller sections. Just follow the footpath signs from the following coastal locations: ‘White Rock’ above Rozel Bay / Bouley Bay / Bonne Nuit Bay / Sorel / Devil’s Hole / Grève de Lecq / Plémont.

There are wonderful woodland walks in some of the Island’s beautiful valleys such as St. Peter’s Valley which starts from the ‘Perquage’ path at Beaumont and leads up the valley to the north of the Island and the Parish of St. Mary.

The Jersey International Air Display takes place over the natural amphitheatre of St Aubin's bay on the south coast of the Island and is one of the largest, free, displays in the British Isles. The geography of the bay provides a fantastic view of the display aircraft from a wide variety of vantage points.
Over the past few years the Air Display has really made a name for itself within the Airshow calendar with a wide variety of aircraft on show from many different countries.
