FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK:

ANNOUNCEMENTS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 -- FALL FESTIVAL AND DIA DE LOS MUERTOS ALTARS EXHIBIT - What a great day it will be -- the Altars Gallery, games, carnival-style rides, fabulous food, dance and music! Volunteers still needed. Join us from 1:00-5:00 pm for a wonderful time! UPCOMING PARENT EDUCATION WORKSHOPS – “Preparing for a Successful Parent Teacher Conference,” Elizabeth Ipiña (Edison) – Wed. 11/2 at 8:30 am. Grab a cup of coffee or tea and join us in the cafeteria. HALLOWEEN AT EDISON – The Edison costume parade will be held Monday morning, October 31 beginning at 9:00 am. Parents will line up around the track (on the blacktop please!) and watch the costume parade. Children are invited to wear costumes to school, but please don’t wear masks on the way to school (safety issue!). Make sure your child has a change of clothes for the rest of the day. If you would prefer that your child not participate, we will have storytime in the library. Just let your child’s teacher know before 10/28.. PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES are coming at the beginning of November. We have a pupil free day on November 4 and minimum days until November 10. Please check with your child’s teacher for available appointments. Thanks to all the Families who Participated in the Blue Dog Sale! – The PTA tries to offer a variety of ways for families to support Edison so you can find the way that best fits your family’s budget. Many of our families appreciate the opportunity to involve extended family, friends, neighbors and co-workers in supporting the school. Others find it fits better to just write a check and make a direct donation, come dine at school events, or clip box tops, or register your Ralphs card. Find what works for you and participate in those that you can! If you can make a direct donation to the PTA before the end of the year, or register at Amazon Smile and Ralphs and do your holiday shopping there – that helps too. PTA is also having a holiday season raffle this year with wonderful prizes and there will be an advance sale of tickets at Fall Festival!

Addressing parent concerns or questions and fostering strong family-school communication are very important to our school. You can help us respond as quickly as possible by leaving a clear message with your name, your child’s name, your contact information and when it is best for us to contact you. For help in directing your inquiry, please see below. 

If your purpose in meeting with the principal is related to a concern about your child’s teacher, you must first meet with your child’s teacher to try to resolve the problem at that level. If your call is about an urgent, time-sensitive, or confidential matter, please make Ms. Alvarez aware of that.
